Gojou completes Marin and Sajuna’s costumes. He and Shinju prepare a surprise for the group cosplay photoshoot.
Episode 9 – “A Lot Happened After I Saw That Photo”
Hmm.
Marin is a playful tease, but so is My Dress-Up Darling! Last week’s episode brought us to the beach without much fanservice, except for one memorable flash. And this week, Marin told us she bought a new swimsuit, but we barely saw it. Marin’s measurement episode made us greedy for more luscious and lovingly long looks at Marin’s body. But, just like Marin playing with Gojou, the show makes us wonder when we’ll get another bombshell scene of Marin’s fanservice. J-List is there for your doujin needs if you’re impatient.
However, My Dress-Up Darling works quickly to satisfy our fanservice needs for newly introduced girls. We saw how fast Sajuna ended up naked on Gojou’s bathroom floor. That was a silky, smooth transition! This week, Shinju burst out of her shell after Gojou noticed the “big” difference between the younger and older Inui sisters. Shinju almost put Gojou’s eye out in her busty debut! The anime gave us efficient character development for Shinju to surprise Marin and Sajuna at their group cosplay location. My Dress-Up Darling continues to prove that Gojou is a sensitive boy worth rooting for.
Heh.
Hahaha! The first thing Marin does to Gojou after entering his room is flash her panties at him! She’s the perfect girlfriend! Fans of My Dress-Up Darling feel Gojou’s pain. His tissue box keeps many secrets… Swimsuit fashion has moved on from high-waisted bottoms. We need to see that butt cleavage! Marin loves teasing Gojou, but she’s still innocent about his bodily reactions. Ah. Marin wore the wrong bra. She only wants Gojou to see her fancy ones. Her regular ones are too intimate to show off.
Aw. Gojou already said the My Dress-Up Darling episode title. Mr. Tissue Box will never spill its secrets! Gojou’s room is turning into a hot chick hangout. Sajuna likes how the Black Lily costume turned out. Marin realized how wide the gulf in cosplay experience between her and Sajuna is. She wants to engage in shoptalk with Gojou too! Har. Her only vocabulary is “insane, mega insane, and super-duper insane.” Gojou likes the compliments, anyway.
We’re in a make-up tutorial video. Also, Gojou learns how to paint a living doll’s face with foundation and shape eyes with tape. Marin loves it! She “can’t even!” Those are “wuving” smacks, not domestic violence in My Dress-Up Darling.
Ah. It’s the day of the group cosplay photoshoot already. This city keeps having these rainy days. That gray sky should help the atmosphere for the characters, though. Marin and Sajuna will enjoy cosplaying Black Lobelia and Black Lily. Haha! Juju-sama exists! Of course, she does! Uh oh. My Dress-Up Darling is setting up a surprise with Gojou and Shinju. What happened to them? Shinju cosplayed too! But who did she become?
Wow, that flashback happened a long time ago. Gojou is sneaky! He’s been working with Shinju since the location scouting. Gojou is a stud. His mere touch made Sajuna faint. Aw. The dude is such a caring guy. He noticed Shinju’s eyes light up about playing dress-up too. The town in My Dress-Up Darling has painted manhole covers. The gloomy rain sets the mood for sharing vulnerable secrets. Shinju wants to play a character from Flower Girl Blaze!!, but she’s sad that her body type won’t let her. Well, let’s see what Gojou can do to rescue a damsel in distress! Gojou spares no damsel his disapproval face. Ooh. Shinju shares gender bender secrets with Gojou Onii-san!
Who did that? Who called Shinju “fat?” She’s taller and more voluptuous than Sajuna, but Shinju is still in junior high school. Be on your best behavior, Gojou Onii-san! Cosplay on a budget. What a coincidence! Not. There was a reason Gojou noticed his uniform looked like the boys’ in Flower Girl Blaze!! It was to let Shinju borrow his for her cosplay costume. It fits and doesn’t fit her. Blammo! Gojou almost lost an eye!
Will a sarashi wrap be enough? Nope! Shinju needs to double up. The most expensive part of Shinju’s costume is her chest flattener. B Holder and NuBra should sponsor My Dress-Up Darling. Shinju and Gojou share nervous feelings about their first times doing cosplay. This is how people become friends. People may look calm on the outside, “but everyone has a lot going on,” according to Gojou.
Incredible cut back to the present, well-done anime direction. Big sister Sajuna approves of Shinju’s Soma Onii-chan cosplay. So does Marin! Please note the change in vocabulary again. Another cosplay selfie. Hey, don’t they need to take pro pictures with DSLR? I want to see how the images turned out! Next time, we have an episode title that someone already said!
My Dress-Up Darling (Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru) streams on Crunchyroll, VRV, and Funimation in Japanese with English subtitles and English language dubbing.
