Ask anyone what new anime series they’re loving, and the answer will most likely be Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The currently airing anime adaptation of Koyoharu Gotōge’s work has been a smash hit with fans all over the world, and it’s been blowing up even bigger the last few weeks thanks to the growing popularity of a certain tiny demon girl. Fans of the adorable Nezuko Kamado can now immortalize her demonic power and adorable pocket-sized nature with a brand new Nendoroid figure.
Nendoroids are a long-running line of figures from Japanese toy manufacturer Good Smile Company. The company is known for a few different types of releases, but they’re all major successes that have made them the biggest name in collectible figures. Each month, they regularly release over a dozen scale figures. These large, premium statue-like toys render your favorite anime and video game characters in exquisite detail, and at an equally premium price.
For something slightly more affordable, there’s the incredibly popular “Figma” line. Every month, Good Smile Company releases a new selection of these high-quality posable figures. At around half the price of their scale figure releases, you get a slightly smaller character with a huge amount of posable articulation, a display base, and an assortment of alternate faces and hands to get the exact pose you want. They even come with all of the most memorable accessories or attack effects that the character could need to be able to accurately replicate their most iconic scenes on your shelf.
Nendoroids, meanwhile, are very similar to Figma releases. The only major difference is that every Nendoroid figure is smaller in stature and rendered in an adorable chibi art style. Still, they are impressively poseable and include extra faceplates and hands as well. Good Smile Company has been putting out Nendoroids since 2008, and today, they release nearly 30 new figures each month.
As one of their many new August Nendoroid releases, Nezuko comes with all of the detail and extras that you would expect. Her default face is the regularly blank expression she shows in the anime, giving off a vacant yet adorable vibe. It has sharp molding and perfect decal work on it that make her eyes and eyebrows really pop.
If you want to change things up, you can swap this face out and equip Nezuko with her “demon face”, instead. In this look, she’s got an angrier expression on as sculpted veins pop out from every corner of her face. With the articulated limbs of the Nendoroid, you can pose Nezuko so that she’s in the dynamic fighting stance she uses in the series.
One of the accessories Nezuko comes with is the carrying box that she so frequently stays inside of. Her brother, Tanjiro, carries her around in this box, and if you get the Tanjiro Nendoroid, you can actually put Nezuko’s box on his back! On top of that, you can use special hands included with the Nendoroids to have Tanjiro and Nezuko hold hands together.
The Nezuko Kamado Nendoroid is available now from the J-List shop for $56.00 USD.
