Did How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord Ω just call idol fans a bunch of hooting sasquatches? Sure, but the story made sure to qualify them as “discerning” hooting sasquatches. Idol fans have standards, you know.

That scene in Demon Lord Ω also made a nice statement about the current condition of anime by combining the two most overused genres. We have isekai stories pouring out of whatever dimension Truck-kun delivers its sacrificial victims and the curtain keeps opening on musical idol shows every season. Why not combine the two premises in a fun way? How NOT to Summon a Demon Idol Master will not be coming to a screen near you anytime soon, though. I hope not!

Isn’t it odd for a holy Paladin to summon putrid and corrupted creatures? It’s just another way Demon Lord Ω points out the corruption within the Church that Lumachina tries to correct. And there’s Gewalt. The end of the episode is close, so here comes our cliffhanger. Whoa! Horn tackled Gewalt into the rapids below the cliff! She had much emotion in that reaction, so she’s bound to have a story behind it. There’s the cliffhanger! Diablo jumped after them!

Next time, it looks like Diablo recovers his original staff and collects a new harem member.
