Do you need more confirmation from Hokkaido Gals that Tsubasa has been a sheltered, rich kid? He never received chocolate from friends at school and never played video games. He’s musically inclined with singing talent and playing the piano. The guy might even have perfect pitch if he can rearrange a song he heard only once for a classical sonata. He’s a chick magnet and already gyaru mama approved. And he already has two gyarus hanging on each arm. What better way to signal other girls in school that he’s desirable? Tsubasa’s advantages have primed him to live out a high school boy’s fantasy. But who will give him the confidence to build an emotionally satisfying gyaru harem? Minami and Sayuri should tag team their efforts. But they need to work on their poise, too.

Thriller Karaoke is a real-world karaoke chain in Hokkaido! Go sing with the skeletons like Hokkaido Gals. Oh, Tsubasa. Just because Minami sang a lyric doesn’t mean she “loves you.” You have other reasons to believe that, but not from a karaoke performance. Minami’s party-girl vibes impressed Sayuri. Tsubasa pays close attention to what cheers Minami up. Stalker? No, no, no. Attentive! Now, he knows how a specific love song affects Minami’s mood. Boyfriend material right here. Oho. Sayuri likes singing karaoke, but not in public. She’ll sing for you, Tsubasa. Count on it! Minami, the Karaoke Queen, has entered the chat. Friends sing together!
Oh, good. Tsubasa is a healthy male anime character. He has guy friends! Anime needs more of this wholesomeness on display. Aw. Sayuri makes other gal friends, too. Minami’s larger-than-life personality brings everyone together. Uh oh. Gloom talk. Valentine’s Day is almost here. Who will get chocolate from whom? Oh. Fuyumi makes chocolates for everyone each year. You’re not so special, Tsubasa. But are you, really? Oho. Sayuri pays close attention to Tsubasa, too. Gamer gyaru has a plan!
Bittersweet Rivalry for Hokkaido Gals?
Uh oh! Hokkaido Gals compete for Tsubasa! I see. Sayuri wants to make chocolate for Tsubasa but can’t bring herself to it. Yet! Here we go. It’s chocolate time! With Minami? No. Distract Minami with cosmetics and makeup. Oh, but really, Sayuri must buy chocolate. She’s so shy! Do your best, Sayurin. Minami can help! Look at the little hearts in Minami’s eyes again. Ooh. Here’s the real question: will you give Tsubasa the extra chocolate experience? Sayuri and Minami blush hard enough to melt the snow around them. Aw. The girls still aren’t ready to admit their feelings. They’re just buddies and friends and pals!
Finally, Sayuri can’t avoid it any longer. Time to cook chocolate! And call Minami for help. Hahaha! Minami messaged her first! Sayuri can’t answer that question about Tsubasa! Triple ack! Minami ruined her entire chocolate menu! What will Minami do?
Music Sweeter than Chocolate
The Day of Truth: Valentine’s Day! Did Tsubasa receive chocolate or a card in his shoe locker? No! As if he had secret admirers. Tsubasa had in-your-face admirers! Aw. Minami bought chocolate candies to pass out. She had nothing to salvage. Tsubasa is happy to receive anything but notices Minami’s red eyes from crying. Minami was upfront about her “unforeseen circumstances,” but she wanted to see Tsubasa’s happy face from her efforts. Uh oh. Sayuri is mad for her friend’s sake.
Aw. Minami couldn’t keep her tears in any longer. The Hokkaido Gals episode made a point to highlight the music. What can Tsubasa do to comfort Minami? To cheer her up? Oh! He can play the piano. And he’s good! Tsubasa played Minami’s happy song. It worked! Minami called him a stud. It’s hard to disagree at this moment. Oh, right. Sayuri has buddy choco to hand out. Ah. Sayuri did have chocolates for Tsubasa. Minami gets all the ’gram-worthy shots of chocolate. Sayuri is such a tsundere! It’s a choco party in the music room.
