Even if you live under a rock you know what hentai is, but if you’re reading this then you haven’t experienced it crossed with the entertainment style of visual novel video games. There are literally thousands of hentai visual novels to choose from in Japan, and a few hundred have even been translated into English for us to enjoy. Needless to say, it can be very difficult to choose which one to play first!
Should you get something with a serious story, where the adult content is just an extra treat? Or one that features gameplay elements? Or maybe just a simple nukige game for fapping?
I compiled this small guide to help newcomers to hentai visual novels find a game that will make your first experience an enjoyable one, and to introduce you to a few games you might not know about. All games featured in this list are officially translated, uncensored, and released in English. If you want to know more about a specific game title, just click on their respective names.

Hentai Visual Novels with Gameplay
When you think of visual novels, you know that they rarely feature actual gameplay. However, some of them break those standards. Alongside the Hentai Visual Novel JRPGs found in Part 1, you should also consider LittleWitch Romanesque and Eiyu*Senki, if you like to do something more than reading.
LittleWitch Romanesque
You are Domino, the youngest wizard ever to earn the rank of Archmage. You’ve just begun your study of the ancient Dark Tower, a treasure trove of lost magical knowledge. However, there’s a catch, you need to train two troublesome but overly cute students, Aria and Kaya. And you only have three years to accomplish something that usually takes decades. From here, you can send your students on quests, develop their skills, and have awesome adventures together that include your typical fantasy fare of dragons, angels, and sorcery. Gameplay here is played during the questing, and it revolves around luck with a bit of strategy, by rolling dice and using skill cards. If you enjoy a more relaxed gameplay with adorable girls drawn by the famous artist Oyari Ashito, you should give LittleWitch Romanesque a try, it’s a true hidden gem.
Eiyu*Senki: The World Conquest
Did you ever want to conquer the world? What if it was ruled by cute anime girls? That’s right! Every famous world leader just got more moe and sexier, with art by the famous Oyari Ashito. This is a sophisticated adult strategy game with fabulous gameplay, story, characters, and art. Featuring genderbent cute girl versions of such historical figures as King Arthur, Oda Nobunaga, Napoleon, Vlad the Impaler, Aristotle, and Nostradamus, you get to interact with dozens of cute girls as you conquer the world, creating your own personal “harem” along the way. As a visual novel, it’s a blast to read and find all the historical references, and the gameplay is good and engaging. If you enjoy a nice bit of strategy, you should consider Eiyu*Senki: The World Conquest, I think no one will be disappointed.
HuniePop
Hunie Pop is a mix of genres. At its core, it’s a visual novel dating sim, but it also includes a puzzle game for gameplay and some light RPG elements. It’s the only game in this list that was created by a western company, but don’t let that keep you from playing it. It might not have an intriguing story or epic setting, but the puzzle gameplay is very addictive and boasts nice rewards. I don’t think I need to tell you what they are. Choose your “waifu”, play for her, and win her heart. It’s a very casual pick, and easy to recommend if you have no idea what to choose.
Hardcore Hentai Visual Novels
At their core, these are nukige visual novels that contain extreme images and scenes, not recommended for the faint of heart. However, if you can endure the journey, you’ll be handsomely rewarded. (Find less hardcore nukige hentai visual novels in PART 1 of this guide)
Starless: Nymphomaniac’s Paradise
Starless is a massive hentai epic created by Sei Shoujo, the same artist behind hentai classics like Bible Black and Discipline. When Yukito Sawatari finds an amazing part-time job that pays $20,000 for just two weeks of work, he thinks he’s the luckiest guy in the world. But the job isn’t an easy one; he’ll have to move into a mysterious mansion and sexually service the women who live there. Explore a new fetish every day with the help of Marie Mamiya and her daughters, one of whom even has an… “extra feature”. A fascinating erotic smorgasbord by Japan’s premier hentai creator, Starless: Nymphomaniac’s Paradise is a wonderful feast of erotic 2D visuals. I must warn you though, this is not for everyone but the most dedicated. Yukito is not alone in this journey, and you’ll suffer alongside him all the fetishes you can imagine, but in the end, you will find a real paradise.
Euphoria
This one became very famous with the anime release, but the original version is still the visual novel. The protagonist, Keisuke Takatou, is locked in a white room with six girls: his childhood friend Kanae Hokari, class rep. Miyako Andou, junior Rika Makiba, English teacher Natsuki Aoi, same-year student Rinne Byakuya, and classmate Nemu Manaka. All of them are confused by this abnormal situation when a mysterious voice suddenly announced to them that “The game will now begin.” You play as Keisuke and become an “Unlocker,” while the girls get to be the “Keyholes”. To sum it up, you pick a girl, follow the instructions the voice gives you, and try to solve the mystery. If you enjoy the locked room and death game type of story, then you should really consider this one, but don’t let the cute look of the girls fool you. This one is really hardcore, and you need to have a strong heart to endure till the end. Will you accept the challenge?
Valkyrie Svia
Lilith Soft is best known for the Taimanin Asagi series, the scantily dressed ninja that is featured in a bunch of hentai anime and visual novels. They also created Valkyrie Svia, where you play as the main antagonist, Loki. In order to conquer Yggdrasil, you need to get two keys that are inside the wombs of two beautiful and dangerous valkyries. You get to decide what to do with them and how to retrieve those keys that are so precious to you. If you like monsters, gangbangs, and full control over every situation in a fantasy world, this is a good pick. However, between the three games in this genre, it’s the one with the least focus on story, and more focus on the hentai scenes, not that it is a bad thing.
BONUS: Fully Animated Hentai Visual Novels
There are basically only two games out there that play like a hentai visual novel but are fully animated like a hentai anime. Take a closer look at School Days and it’s spin-off sequel Shiny Days.
School Days

These two titles are hentai visual novels only in name. Playing them is closer to watching an anime than reading a book since they feature a fully animated, branching story with multiple endings. In fact, School Days was such a famous visual novel that it got its own TV anime featuring one of the most disturbing “bad endings” in anime history! This ending is just one of twenty total endings that you can unlock in the original game. In School Days you assume the role of Makoto, a student at Sakakino Academy. Like any young man you have your eye on the girls around you with thoughts of more than just friendship, and when your classmate Sekai offers to introduce you to that cute girl you see on the train every morning, you can’t say no. Her name is Kotonoha, and she’s everything you could ask for in a girlfriend, but when you’re about to go on your first date and turn to thank Sekai for her matchmaking efforts, she takes her payment in the form of a kiss. Could it be that she has feelings for you too? Get ready for one of the most emotional love triangles you’ve ever seen.
Shiny Days is a spin-off sequel to School Days, which is also worth checking out since it adds the romancing of MILFs. When Sekai gets sick and asks Setsuna to take over for her at her part-time job it’s the start of something important for Setsuna and Makoto, and for all the School Days characters. It will be a summer no one will forget, with over 35 endings. If you are a fan of the anime series, or you want an interactive hentai anime, you should get one of these, both of them are top quality hentai and a very unique experience that you can’t find anywhere else.
