Episode 4 — “Don’t Be Dense, Be Sharp”
Hmm.
I’m worried about Takamine-san. Why? Because the anime is burning through all the fanservice cliché scenarios too quickly! Yes, of course, we are watching an ecchi fanservice show, but can you afford to insert the school swimsuit episode, the lingerie store episode, and the sick home visit episode into one? At this rate, Takamine-san will have the beach episode well before the eighth episode! Does this mean the anime will create new scenarios for Takane to take off her underwear and force Koushi to put new ones on her? It might.
I’m hopeful because of a scene from the last episode. Takamine-san used the gym marathon event we often see in high school anime settings and creatively turned it into an indecent exposure prevention scenario. Takane’s bare butt inspired Koushi to run faster than anyone else. What other clichés from high school anime will Takamine-san use to turn Koushi into a panic-stricken, hidden-sex hentai protagonist? Several things come to mind.
Think of the high school trip to a hot springs hotel. Hijinks. The beach episode and a bagful of swimsuits. Hijinks. The aquarium date? Hijinks! Takamine-san has also interspersed backstory throughout the episodes from Takane’s perspective. So, I’m hopeful that the trend continues during the fanservice scenes.
We already knew from the first episode how well she knew Koushi. But he mysteriously treated her as a high school celebrity he had never spoken to. The home visit for a sick classmate revealed a cat that still lives with Takane. I’m curious about that cat’s reunion with Koushi. How will he react to “Kuro,” who recognizes him, but he does not? It appears that the goal of Takamine-san is to reunite childhood friends. Let’s see it happen with pokey nipples and peekaboo lingerie!
Haite Kudasai, Takamine-san Makes Me Go Heh.
Takane looks good in a school swimsuit, but she could look better! She can win using the backstroke, so she can flash a hard nipple at Koushi. Another “petty” use of Takane’s Eternal Virgin Road ability. Like waiting for a breeze as she read a line of poetry, Takane desired an impression that had more impact. But what underwear disappeared? A nipple pastie! Does she pack those in Closet-kun’s bag, too?
Takamine-san answers my questions: How often does Takane shop for replacement underwear? More teasing. Takane asks Koushi to choose the sexy underwear she should wear. He puts them on anyway, so why not enjoy them? Har. Cherry boy energy does no good in a lingerie shop. Closing your eyes to pick a random set has its own hazards! White or black to fit Takane’s personality? Koushi picked blue but won’t answer why. To the fitting room! Sexy. Panties over tights! Aw. Takamine-san’s cherry boy couldn’t handle the stimulation.
Takane needs answers: Why blue underwear? She loves doing the wall slam maneuver on Koushi. Blue is the color of the sky high above him, where Takane lives. She liked that but won’t admit it.

Koushi is Sick and Tired of Takamine-san Already!
Uh oh. It’s time for the hell-cold-flu episode requiring a home visit. Takane’s rice porridge had better be tasty! She dragged Koushi home and put him to bed. Har. She looked for his “homework” folder! Naked apron time? Takamine-san knows how to entertain its audience. Oh boy. Another pointless redo. She made him porridge quickly to avoid catching his cold. Koushi wonders if her carrot-and-stick approach to teasing and kindness means she likes him. Duh.
Here’s some kindness — sharing a sick man’s bed to keep him warm. Another redo? Now Takane is bottomless and topless! She wanted to guarantee she didn’t smell, so she changed how much she sweated in PE class! Would Koushi prefer her to have a sweaty odor? Think of her as a dakimakura-sized hot water bottle and go to sleep, Koushi. Easy for you to say!
Takamine-san Shows Us PLOT and BACKSTORY
Oh. Takane admitted to the real reason she redid Koushi’s home visit. She apologized for teasing him too much and not caring enough for his cold. Her apology gift? Oxytocin. Skin-to-skin contact produces the enjoyment hormone. But is she always calculating about offering the carrot or the stick? Takamine-san had Koushi conveniently fall asleep to postpone any relationship development.
Flashback. A young Takane adopts a black cat with Koushi. “Kuro” still lives with her! Takane asks Kuro if Koushi thinks she’d do everything she does if she didn’t care about him. Well, he clearly doesn’t remember growing up with her. We have more hints about how Takane’s earlier usage of Eternal Virgin Road erased his memories.
