There’s an undeniable allure of elven maidens in fiction. They steal every scene they’re in when they appear in anime, manga, video games, etc. They typically come from a hidden, magical place, know magic, are immortal, and are known for possessing incredible beauty. There are zero downsides to dating an elf, even if they outlive us by centuries.
After giving a great list of genderswap girls, let’s look at elf girls we can love forever.
1. Shera L. Greenwood — How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord (Isekai Maou to Shokan Shojo no Dorei Majutsu, The Other World Demon Lord and the Summoning Girl’s Slave Magic)
Shera Greenwood, the elf, alongside Rem Galleu, the Pantherian (cat girl), summon Diablo (Takuma Sakamoto), the Demon Lord, to their world. They planned to Enslave Diablo, but they are instead made his slaves, though they don’t seem to mind. Later, they become his wives.
How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord first enslaved the fans as a light novel series written by Yukiya Murasaki and illustrated by Takahiro Tsurusaki. Kodansha began publishing the series on December 2nd, 2014, and it continues with fourteen volumes available. It was adapted to both manga and anime.
2. Tiffania Westwood — The Familiar of Zero (Zero no Tsukaima)
Tiffa is a noble elf, a princess with incredible magical abilities. Not only can she heal, but she also wields the godlike power of Void. She was also one of the many sexy magical girls pursuing Saito. Rather than going the harem route, as many would have liked, he dumped all of them for Louise. He is stupid, and Tiffa deserves better.
The Familiar of Zero began blowing things up with magic as a light novel series written by Noboru Yamaguchi and illustrated by Eiji Usatsuka. It was adapted to both manga and anime.
3. Deedlit — Record of Lodoss War (Rodosu-to Senki, Lodoss Island War Chronicle)
You can’t have an elf girls list and not include Deedlit. It’s just not done. Deedlit is a high elf from the spirit world and an incredibly gifted fighter and magic user. She’s proud and a great source of knowledge and wisdom. Perhaps she could use some of that wisdom to make clear her feelings to Parn since he’s the typical oblivious protagonist. She’s also a key figure in almost every entry in the franchise.
Record of Lodoss War set the high fantasy world ablaze as a series of novels by Ryo Mizuno that ran from April 10th, 1988, to March 27th, 1993. To begin talking about how much material there is would be an article on its own. But there are plenty of anime to watch and manga to read too.
4. Raine Sage (Refill Sage) — Tales of Symphonia
Raine and her brother Genis (Genius) have had a difficult life, but that doesn’t keep them down. Raine is a powerful magic user, though her strength lies in healing. She’s also a brilliant researcher, with a special “ruin mode” that overtakes her when she enters old ruins. Raine is technically a half-elf, born to an elven woman and a human man, but she’s the hot teacher we all want to impress, so she gets a pass.
Raine first appeared in the Bandai Namco GameCube title Tales of Symphonia, originally released on August 29th, 2003. She has also appeared in the manga adaptation and the anime version, which we covered here some time ago.
5. Alleyne — Queen’s Blade
Alleyne is one of the oldest warriors of her tribe of forest elves. She’s strict and professional, suiting her title of “Fighting Master.” Echidna, another member of her tribe, often teases her about being a virgin despite being 1000 years old. After her student and love interest Nowa was ordered to participate in the titular Queen’s Blade tournament, essentially a death sentence, she left to protect Nowa.
Queen’s Blade first began its sexy tournament as a series of visual combat books published by Hobby Japan. There were numerous manga, light novels, and anime adaptations.
6. Marielle — Log Horizon
Marielle is an Elf Cleric and guild master of the Crescent Moon Alliance. She is one of the hundreds of thousands of people who have been locked into the MMORPG Elder Tale. She remained upbeat and optimistic in the face of the Catastrophe that saw her permanently settle into Theldesia.
Log Horizon first trapped people in the game as a novel series written by Mamare Touno on April 13th, 2010. It was later adapted as a light novel, manga, and anime series.
7. Emilia — Re:Zero Starting Life in Another World (Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu)
The main heroine and best girl (though this is heavily contested) of Re:Zero, she is another half-elf and the target of numerous events due to her royal candidacy. She is powerful and beautiful, and the isekai protagonist only has eyes for her (and not the cute maid who confessed her feelings for him).
Re:Zero Starting Life in Another World first chose Emilia as a novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki. It has been adapted into light novels, manga, anime, and video games.
8. Eina Tulle — Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka)
Often shortened to DanMachi, Bell’s point of contact when taking on quests or needing advice and guidance is the lovely elf at the guild reception, Eina. She goes above and beyond her job to aid Bell and even shows concern for his safety. She’s also easily flustered about romance, which is just cute.
’Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?’ first entered the dungeon as a light novel series written by Fujino Omori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda. It has been adapted to manga, anime, and video games, one of which was censored in the West.
9. Fiel Nirvalen — No Game No Life
Fiel is one of Sora and Shiro’s friends and a gifted elf girl. She lives in a strange world where elven women are supposed to be slender, so her curvy figure has become a subject of mockery. Truly, Disboard needed Sora to bring some culture to it. She also has some very yuri feelings for Chlammy Zell, even though she was responsible for making Chlammy flat-chested.
No Game No Life set up the chess game of a lifetime as a light novel series by Yuu Kamiya and published by Media Factory on April 25th, 2012. It was later adapted to manga and anime, though surprisingly not to any video game.
10. Suguha Kirigaya / Leafa — Sword Art Online
This might be a bit of a cheat because Suguha is just a regular human. Like Marielle before her, Suguha is an elf girl in an online game, ALfheim Online (ALO). She’s technically Kirito’s cousin, and regardless of offline or online form, her figure puts Asuna’s to shame. Loyal, kind, powerful, and Asuna is still the best girl. The actual best girls never win, do they?
Sword Art Online, the edgier .hack, started as a light novel series written by Reki Kawahara and illustrated by abec. ASCII Media Works began publishing the series on April 10th, 2009. It has been adapted into anime, manga, and video games.
Bonus: Yukihana Lamy
Yukihana Lamy is a popular VTuber from Hololive, and we all know how great VTubers are. Her lore tells us that she’s a noblewoman from a snowy area and was inspired to become a streamer after catching a Hololive stream.
Lamy is also featured in J-List’s Hololive section, where she has her own doujin book.
If you’re looking for more elves, look no further than the ELF PARADISE Vol.5 art book, containing numerous elven maidens in various states of undress.
