Did you know that while literacy rates are improving, IQ is declining? If your parents or grandparents tell you that “back in my day, we didn’t need warnings,” they’re right. While I often lament our declining intelligence, episode three of Does It Count if You Lose Your Virginity to an Android? gives me some hope. Today, you can’t even buy a vacuum without someone telling you not to put any part of yourself in it. But tomorrow we’ll be able to turn on (pun intended) sex bots with a French kiss. Enlightened times are on the horizon.

I’m proud of my curiosity; it’s led me to some of the most enjoyable moments of my life. I wish I knew why Akane seems so concerned about the repercussions of owning a sex bot. Does her company prohibit it? Is it a societal problem? I wish the anime would tell us. All I know is that no force on earth would prevent me from buying one. I’ve long said that life’s too long to be happy, and too short to be meaningful, but it’s perfectly timed to embrace hedonism. Yet despite Akane’s worries, when she wakes up and Nadeshiko doesn’t, she finds it problematic. To me, that raises the biggest thought experiment that comes with shows like Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android? — emotional attachment.
How attached would someone get to a sex bot? Some would say it’s preposterous to think people would fall in love with a glorified sex bot. But people fall in love with AI chatbots. Last I checked, you couldn’t stick your dick in a chatbot, and the chatbot can’t stick anything in you. Trust me, the day someone invents a sex bot like Makina or Nadeshiko, it will end our current view of dating and romance. But that’s a discussion for another day. For today, how would you turn on your sex bot? Would you prefer to French kiss it, or would you rather finger it? I’d do both excessively.

So, you turned on your sex bot. Now, how would you dress it? Would you get her a maid-styled bikini? Perhaps you’d put that sexy machine in a cow print bikini! You could also completely embrace culture and dress her up in a cow print maid bikini! The possibilities really are endless. But Akane doesn’t share my perversions; she got Nadeshiko a frilly dress. But with that frilly dress came what we’ve all been waiting for, the lead-up to romantic yuriness!
While seeing Nadeshiko in a frilly dress makes my heart and my groin warm, I have to wonder. Why was a schoolgirl uniform the only thing Akane had to clothe Nadeshiko with? Why is there a JK’s sailor uniform in Akane’s apartment? Is she a truly cultured individual? Who knows ….
Did you know that the characters in Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android?, have dual VAs? The anime has a censored and an uncensored version (Deregula version), and each has its own main cast. J-List has class, so we don’t concern ourselves with censored things. In the show’s Deregula version of the anime, Ao Senami voices Akane, and Yuu Shiraki voices Nadeshiko. I haven’t checked the normal version of this anime, but those two are perfect in the Deregula version. Every lewd noise out of their mouth makes me horny. And that’s something that will always have my love.
