Two of Magic: the Gathering’s most iconic Planeswalkers, Chandra Nalaar and Jace Beleren, are coming to J-List as cute, posable Nendoroid action figures! Welcome to The Pickle and Daweeb Show, where we roll dice, tap cards, and photocopy proxies in the name of anime and manga! Besides the exciting pair of MtG Nendoroids, we have more TCG and CCG news, and a big book for a small hero, so let’s rip open that shiny foil wrapping and see what we’ve got.
Final Fantasy TCG Getting a Two Player Starter
Final Fantasy fans, rejoice! Square Enix will release its Final Fantasy TCG: Two Player Starter Set – Noctis Vs. Ardyn in October of this year.
The set will feature two 50-card preconstructed decks based on Noctis and Ardyn from Final Fantasy XV. Jump right into battle against a friend, playing either Noctis’ Wind and Earth deck or Ardyn’s Fire and Lightning deck. The set includes exclusive cards and a full-art premium card for Noctis and Ardyn.
My Hero Academia: Crimson Rampage Out Now
The My Hero Academia CCG’s second core set, Crimson Rampage, launched on May 6th. The set introduces Stain, the vigilante Hero Killer.
Legendary Wolf Games has more information.
Tomb Thumb Samurai gets a New Retelling from Disney Artist
Issunboshi is the retelling of a Japanese folktale about a tiny samurai set to face off against a demon with designs on world domination. The 200-page hardcover graphic novel is written and illustrated by Ryan Lang, a Visual Development Artist with Walt Disney Animation who has a number of Avengers movie credits to his name. Ryan first heard the story of Issun-bōshi or The Inch-High Samurai, when growing up in Hawaii.
Issunboshi raised over $95,000 from 2,175 backers on Kickstarter in February, 2021. It will be published by Oni Press, with a release date of October 26th.
Chandra Nalaar and Jace Beleren Nendoroid Preorders Open
The hottest pyromancer, Chandra Nalaar, and the mind-bending mage Jace Beleren, both Planeswalkers of the Gatewatch, team up as Nendoriod figures to project your shelves from evil dragons and the undead. Both Magic: the Gathering figures are available for preorder now, on the J-List Web Store:
Get the Chandra Nalaar Nendoroid Figure from Magic: The Gathering
Get the Jace Beleren Nendoroid Figure from Magic: The Gathering
You’ll get 10% off your order if you’re quick.
Which Planeswalker would you like to see as a Nendoroid next? Or is their room on your shelf and in your heart for a lost Fblthp? Personally, Vraska would complete the set for me, but a goblin or two, like Krenko, would be too much fun. I’ll take bets on the dragon with the girl’s name, Nicol Bolas, getting a Nendoroid if these prove to be a hit with MtG fans. But please, Good Smile Company, can we get some mini Magic: the Gathering cards for our Nendoroid collections, please!
