There’s an ironic shortage of tall anime girls for us cultured otaku to love. These truly hot anime waifus may tower over us, but that’s why we adore them. There’s simply more to love. The cowards who won’t ask them to dance because of their height deserve nothing. We know that tall anime girls are peak waifu material, and we’re here to honor them.
1. Diane and Merlin (The Seven Deadly Sins)
This might be a cheat. Diane is a member of the Giant Clan, so of course she’s incredibly tall. She’s also incredibly thicc, so she definitely deserves some love. Merlin is a normal woman, but she’s still quite tall. Likewise, she’s also a thicc hot anime waifu who wears revealing outfits. These girls are as powerful as they are hot, so mind your manners around them.
Nakaba Suzuki first released his sequel to The Seven Deadly Sins on January 27th, 2021. Kodansha has since released fourteen volumes in Weekly Shonen Magazine.
2. Boa Hancock and Yamato (One Piece)
We can’t forget the royal girls, can we? Boa Hancock is the Snake Princess of Amazon Lily who can petrify those around her. Yamato is the Oni Princess of Wano Country. These women with truly eye-catching figures are mighty enough to tear through whole armies and command the respect and reverence of cultured otaku. They’re also friends with Luffy. Indeed, Boa wants to marry him. He needs to man up and do it.
Eiichiro Oda began writing and drawing this series on July 22nd, 1997. Shueisha has published 106 volumes thus far.
3. Yu Takeyama “Mt. Lady” (My Hero Academia)
This is another cheat entry. Yu Takeyama is known as Mt. Lady for a reason: she can change her height to become as tall and strong as a mountain. She’s the perfect tall anime girl and a true hot anime waifu. Her thicc physique grows to truly cultured sizes, and any good otaku would want to scale her peaks. Fortunately for them, Yu seems the type to invite these attempts.
If you’re looking for a cute, true hero, J-List can help. The Mina Ashido 1/8 Figure Hero Suit Ver. from My Hero Academia is now available.
Kohei Horikoshi began writing and drawing his heroic series on July 7th, 2014. Shueisha has so far published 38 volumes in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
4. Noel Niihashi (Burn The Witch)
Noel is a witch working at Wing Bind, the Western branch of Soul Society’s Gotei 13. She’s partnered with the comparatively shorter Ninny, with a contrasting personality. Noel is more quiet and reserved, whereas Ninny is loud and rambunctious. She wears a short skirt, the perfect fit for a tall anime girl who often flies from place to place.
Tite Kubo released his one-shot follow-up to Bleach on August 24th, 2020. Since then, Shuseisha has published only a single volume in Weekly Shonen Jump. There’s a new anime adaptation to enjoy.
5. Meiko Shiraki (Prison School)
This tall anime girl knows how to use that whip! She’s the mascot of the series. Meiko is dangerous and merciless, but her choice of wardrobe, which includes a fine pair of glasses, an open shirt, and a remarkably short skirt to not cover her thicc figure, still makes her likable. She began the series as a brutal misandrist, but became a partial ally to the boys in her charge.
Kodansha published Prison School in Weekly Young Magazine from February 7th, 2011, to December 25th, 2017.
6. Ayaka Kagari (Witchcraft Works)
Ayaka is the Princess of Tougetsu Academy. She’s known for her sheer magical power and beauty. This made her popular with her fellow students, who support her. However, Honoka Takamiya has already won her heart. Like Noel, she wears short skirts, even when flying overhead.
Joe has written extensive reviews of Witchcraft Works.
Ryu Mizunagi worked on his manga series between March 5th, 2010, and February 7th, 2022. Kodansha released all seventeen volumes in Good! Afternoon.
7. Vermeil (Vermeil in Gold)
Vermeil is a tall and enchantingly beautiful succubus-like demon. While other spirits avoided Alto’s summons due to his incredible power, Vermeil willingly appeared before him and entered into a contract. She is among the most powerful beings around, which makes her one of the more fun hot anime waifus.
Joe has written extensive reviews of Vermeil in Gold.
Kota Amana and Yoko Umezu first released Vermeil in Gold on August 10th, 2018. Square Enix has since released seven volumes in Monthly Shonen Gangan.
8. Sakaki (Azumanga Daioh)
The tall anime girl Sakaki is calm and soft-spoken. She’s an ace athlete with a love of cute animals. Her shy nature is mistaken for being “cool” and “mysterious.” Kagura considers Sakaki her rival, and Kaorin considers Sakaki her future waifu. Neither of these aspects are actually reciprocated by Sakaki herself. Sakaki is still considered a great student by her teachers.
Kiyohiko Azuma created the original manga series between February 1999 and May 2002. MediaWorks released all four volumes in Dengeki Daioh.
9. Shinobu Oshino (Bakemonogatari)
Shinobu, also known as Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade, has different forms. Her best, and tallest, has much more for cultured otaku to love. She becomes the vampire girl we all know and love. Shinobu lost her original form, along with most of her powers, resulting in a eight-year-old form being her mainstay for a while.
Joe has more in-depth reviews of the series, here.
If you want your own Shinobu figure to love and cherish, J-List can help you out. The Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade 1/6 Figure 12yrs old Ver. from Kizumonogatari is now available for purchase.
Nisio Isin and Vofan began working on the Monogatari novel series on August 10th, 2005. Kodansha Box has since released 29 volumes.
10. Makoto Kino “Sailor Jupiter” (Sailor Moon)
Makoto is the tomboy of the Inner Senshi. She’s tall, athletic, and isn’t afraid to toss normal humans when they act out of line. Her height became a topic of discussion during a famous dance scene. Ami Mizuno “Sailor Mercury” asked Makoto why she wasn’t dancing. Makoto confessed that, due to her height, no guy wanted to dance with her. Ami then asked her for a dance, which led to a nice dance between friends, and a new fandom ship. Not only is Makoto a tall anime girl, but in the future, she becomes a royal girl.
If you want to get your hands on some Sailor Moon physical media, J-List has something on offer. The Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos THE MOVIE ~ First Limited Blu-ray Edition is now available for purchase.
