Have you ever imagined quitting your boring office job, and finding something better as if fate’s giving you a helping hand? Well, that’s the premise of the new game on JAST USA, Breeding Village (NSFW), from longtime hentai developers Norn/Miel. The main character (insert name of choice in the game options), tired of his city life, takes a chance on an unusual small village job. His new duty? Impregnate the women of his new village, because all their husbands are impotent.
Like many games from Norn/Miel, Breeding Village is not much of a game, though in its case there are actually no choices to be made by the player whatsoever. Instead, you’ll be thrown into one sexual situation after another with very little dialogue in between.
One of the reasons the dialogue scenes are so short is probably because only one character, the lonely widow Megumi, actually has a sprite image (actually a couple of variations), and all the other women are only seen during sex scenes. If that means the art money all went to the scenes, it paid off, because the women in this game are detailed, and there are a lot of them. From fingernails to vibrant coloring, the artwork in Breeding Village is more than respectable for a Norn/Miel title. The only downside to the art is the censorship, this game does use mosaic blurring to censor its naughty bits. The background art is basic, and functional, especially considering how little time you actually spend seeing any of it.
Sound design is pretty typical visual novel fare. As is the UI, which is a standard setup of the Ren’py visual novel engine, which seems to be the developer’s engine of choice now. Everything in this game works properly, there were no grammar problems, and the non-scene art is good, so what stands out?
Well, along with the art, the voice work is very effective. Each of the large stable of characters except Megumi, and one other woman who never mentions a husband. Despite that, the developers did a good job of giving them basic but distinguishing, personalities that make them stand out from a typical ‘married older woman’ archetype. There are a couple classical ‘older woman’ characters, but for the most part, each character is defined by their specific way of speaking, and their tone of voice. The voice work does an outstanding job at characterizing the women, especially combined with their unique dialogue. Some are lighthearted, others are aggressive, a couple are shy, but break out of that shyness differently. All of that character isn’t built by exposition, or long scenes of the MC interacting with the women but done almost exclusively through sex scene dialogue. My favorite moment in the game was when three women were competing for the MC’s attention, all in their own way, voices working with dialogue to emphasize their differences. There are a few scenes like it before the game ends.
The game’s scenes are pretty vanilla, though if you’re a fan of group sex there are a lot of scenes for you to enjoy in Breeding Village. Almost all the sex is classic boy-meets-girl with their censored bits, though the developers made sure to take advantage of their characters’ bust sizes in a variety of ways to spice things up. From the game premise, the obvious starring fetish is impregnation, though MILF, large breasts, long hair, and male power fantasy, are guest stars. Pregnant sex is present, but only for one scene, so if that’s the main selling point for you, be aware.
Of course, if the concept of cucking a bunch of men you’ll never see is a turnoff, keep in mind that almost all the women in this game emphasize that they are married.
Breeding Village is a good effort by Norn/Miel. As long as you know what to expect from them, a short nukige with little to no story, it’s hard to be disappointed by the outcome. I’d suggest this game to anyone who likes the genre, as long as you don’t mind the combination of fetishes, or aren’t looking for something a little more exotic.
