With great power comes great responsibility. We’ve heard that a lot in movie theaters recently. You know who hasn’t? The star of a new buddy cop anime that feels like Psych with real ESP and a rookie cop holding the leash. Super Psychic Policeman Chojo (Choujun! Choujou Senpai) premieres October 6, 2026, pairing a powerful psychic police officer with a principled rookie whose judo skills keep her partner vaguely attached to public service.
It’s a very special time for us at J-List, because 30 years ago this week, we started the first anime and hentai shop selling to fans around the world. And we’ve been able to make it this far thanks to our wonderful customers. We’re celebrating with a huge 20% sale on all in-stock Japan products, through October 7th. Start browsing now!
Super Psychic Policeman Chojo Gives a Mind Reader a Badge
Meguru Chojo works from a run-down police box in Chinjuku Kabukichou. The entertainment district never sleeps, and minor crimes and eccentric residents keep the neighborhood hopping. His psychic arsenal includes mind-reading and telekinesis. He applies those gifts to police work and personal convenience, especially the noble pursuit of doing less work.
Rookie officer Nao Ippongi arrives with a black belt and enough integrity for both partners. Her rapid-fire tsukkomi act gives Super Psychic Policeman Chojo’s comedy its recoil. Chojo can anticipate thoughts, yet Nao’s corrections still hit with judo-grade force. Precognition apparently has limits.
That partnership gives every case a clear psychic vision: Chojo sees the trouble coming, and Nao makes sure he actually gets out of his chair.
Cast and Staff Assemble the ESP Squad
The Super Psychic Policeman Chojo voice cast sells every clash between Chojo’s psychic shortcuts and Nao’s hands-on police discipline.
- Yusuke Kobayashi — Meguru Chojo. The overqualified psychic officer has extraordinary ESP. His judgment needs constant supervision.
- Riko Aono — Nao Ippongi. The principled rookie officer serves as the partnership’s moral center and delivers hand-to-hand practical feedback.
- Maria Naganawa — Robo-kun. The polite police robot maintains a distinctly mechanical view of humanity.
- Daisuke Ono — Yuki Inukai. The elite police bureaucrat shares a professional history with Chojo as his former partner.
- Toshiya Miyata — Hajime Keinain. Inukai’s calm, powerful subordinate provides dependable backup when psychic policing gets strange.
The cast and production staff of Super Psychic Policeman Chojo share the same psychic beat, pairing sharp performances with comic timing that keeps every shortcut and judo correction on target.
- Animation production — Arvo Animation
- Director — Junichi Yamamoto
- Series composition and scripts — Hayashi Mori
- Character design — Masakatsu Sasaki
- Music — Keiji Inai
- Opening theme — “Zattsu! Choujou” by M!LK
- Ending theme — “Mata Ashita” by Shifuku Poncho
Character designer Masakatsu Sasaki brought expressive casts to We Never Learn: BOKUBEN and Seton Academy: Join the Pack!. Arvo Animation also produced We Never Learn. Those credits give the team useful experience with fanservice comedy and sharp reactions — exactly what psychic police work needs when it becomes a public disturbance.
The Super Psychic Policeman Chojo ESP squad reports for duty. Now Chojo can scan anime’s psychic frequency for fellow troublemakers — assuming that sounds easier than patrol duty.
Psychic Comedy Meets the Neighborhood Beat
Viewers who enjoy The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. will recognize the fun of overwhelming psychic power colliding with ordinary errands. Mob Psycho 100 supplies another useful reference frame through psychic cases and questionable decision-making.
Chojo flips that shared psychic comedy setup by giving an unreliable adult a badge and extraordinary ESP. Nao acts as his emergency brake, steering limitless psychic power back toward police procedure whenever his sense of duty wanders.
