It’s cute when people mistake shyness for coldness. Koharu Sato is famous for being cold and abrupt with people who try to talk to her. Her demeanor has even earned her the moniker “Salt-God Sato-san.” Her classmate Sota Oshio sees her true nature after a run-in while he’s working at a café. Sota will see just how sweet she can be when The Salty Koharu Has a Soft Spot for Me (Shiotaio no Sato-san ga Ore ni Dake Amai) premieres sometime in October 2026.
This week marks a very special celebration for the U.S., and J-List is getting into the proper spirit with a big July 4 Sale. Celebrate with 15% off all in-stock products shipping from Japan through Monday, July 6. Start browsing here!

The Salty Koharu Has a Soft Spot for Me, So I Tried Asking Her Out
Koharu Sato is famous for her attractive appearance and infamous for the ways she shut down every attempt to befriend her. The people who see her have granted her the title “Salt-God Sato-san.” Her classmate Sota Oshio thought the same of her until he saw her true nature while working a shift at his family’s café. He was in the right place and at the right time to step in when a group of guys wouldn’t take “no” for an answer.

Koharu firmly rejects some guys while trying to take a picture of her food. When they refuse to leave, Sota steps in and calls his father for backup. The guys flee in terror when a large, well-built man approaches them. Sota is surprised when Koharu’s cold demeanor vanishes when she hugs him. He brings her back to his place to comfort her and learns that she wants to become a popular “Minstagrammer” and take viral photos to make friends.
