Kazuhiro Takamura has descended from on high to grace us with an original anime series that highlights his love of cute girls and cool mecha. If the cultured panty shots didn’t make it obvious, Kazuhiro Takamura previously directed Strike Witches and Vividred Operation. Studio SMDE of Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion The Animation is on hand to provide its signature 3DCG animation style. Kazuhiro Takamura and Aniplex have been quiet on the actual plot, only introducing Haruka Todo and her ability to summon a mecha to fight for her. We’ll see more of this cute girl and her cool mecha when Vertex Force premieres sometime in October 2026.

Vertex Force: Of Cute Girls & Cool Mecha
The cultured showrunners have kept quiet about the synopsis of their new series, but we can make educated guesses based on the trailer. Haruka Todo is a skilled martial artist who summons a large mech to fight beside her. This ability is similar to Stands from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Shadows from Blue Dragon. As to how she can do this, we don’t yet know. Nor do we know why she’s a martial artist, but we’re thankful for the high kicks and spats.

An unknown machine with a creepy appearance suddenly attacks Haruka. Creepy is putting it lightly. Its head is too big for its body, and that mouth is straight out of nightmares. Haruka summons her mech, though only the upper half is shown. It also follows her movements exactly, unlike Stands or Shadows, who move independently of their owners. We’re shown a brief image of her mech in all its glory. Whether it gets larger, up to the size of a Gundam, is up for speculation.
Will you carve some pumpkins when you watch the Vertex Force premiere in October? Do you like anime series where characters summon their guardians? Will Haruka perform some more high kicks in transparent spats? Let us know in the comments below.
