The Summer Olympics is still showing us the peak performance of athletes from across the world. Though anime girls immeasurably improve many sports, we’re focusing on swimming. Yes, nothing beats cute anime girl swimmers wearing swimsuits. Let’s see who’ll win a coveted gold medal.
1. Amuro Ninagawa (Kenko Zenrakei Suieibu Umisho)
We start off strong with one of the few green-haired swimmers. Amuro is an incredibly skilled and free-spirited swimmer from the Daito Islands, Okinawa. Though her skills make her an instant hit in the swimming club, she has difficulty following the rules. Particularly skinny dipping around Kaname. Amuro could take gold in the Summer Olympics if she could adhere to the rules.
Mitsuru Hattori released the original Kenko Zenrakei Suieibu Umisho manga series from July 13th, 2005 to April 23rd, 2008. Kodansha published all nine volumes in Weekly Shonen Magazine. Studio Artland’s anime adaptation premiered on July 4th, 2007.
2. Misty (Pokémon)
Misty is a water-type trainer and a gym leader, so of course she would be one of the finest swimmers we list. No matter which adaptation you read, Misty is always ready for wet and wild adventures. She’s willing to swim with a wild Gyarados to understand why it has such a foul temperament. Misty has also appeared in enchanting underwater shows. She can take gold in any Summer Olympics swim competition.
Satoshi Tajiri collaborated with Tsunekazu Ishihara and Junichi Masuda to create the original Pokémon games, which debuted on February 27, 1996. OLM, Inc.’s anime adaptation premiered on April 1st, 1997.
3. Hikari Kohinata (Amanchu!)
Hikari is another avid swimmer. She is a kind and energetic scuba diver who drags her friends along with her on various adventures. Though seeminly oblivious to certain things, Hikari is keen on her friends’ emotions and knows when they’re feeling down. She is one of the better swimmers in her school’s Diving Club. Hikari has an even chance of taking gold at the Summer Olympics. She lives for diving and swimming.
Kozue Amano released the original Amanchu! manga series between November 29th, 2008 and May 10th, 2021. Mag Garden published all seventeen volumes in Monthly Comic Blade. J.C.Staff’s anime adaptation premiered on July 8th, 2016.
4. Ai Nanasaki (Amagami)
Ai is a member of the school swimming team, and later becomes the club president. She wears her swimsuit beneath her uniform, a fact she revealed to a lucky Junichi. She prioritized swimming above all else before meeting and falling for Junichi. Given her skill and position as the swim club president, Ai has an even chance of taking gold at the Summer Olympics.
Enterbrain released the original Amagami dating sim game on March 19th, 2009. Studio AIC’s anime adaptation premiered on July 2nd, 2010.
5. Ayuko Hayami (Golden Boy)
We saved one of the best swimmers for last. Ayuko is an Olympic swimming medalist. She left the professional swimming scene to become a swim coach. Ayuko trained her students with an iron fist, which did not produce the best results. Kintaro’s more affectionate stance bore fruit, but he was fired before she realized it. Her mature figure awakened Kintaro’s swimming talents during a race. He won in his own way by colliding with her in the pool.
Tatsuya Egawa released the original Golden Boy manga between 1992 and 1997. Studio A.P.P.P.’s anime adaptation premiered on October 27th, 1995.
