For Mother’s Day, we nice, cultured weebs should do our utmost for those most special of ladies and show them their due regard. Today we’ll look at influential and remarkable anime mothers who significantly influenced their series with plot or “plot” like the first mature woman on our list.
1. Tsuki Uzaki (Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!, Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai!)
Tsuki is quite different from her daughter Hana, more gentle and especially fearful of Hana’s friend Shinichi. She initially assumes that Shinichi is a beast after both mother and daughter. This may be attributed to the soap operas she watches and a hidden lewd side that matches her figure. Regardless, she is a protective and supportive mother to Hana.

2. Mamako Oosuki (Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?, Okaa-san Online)
Mamako is beautiful, kind, gentle, and supremely powerful in a specific video game. She and her son Masato were drawn into a game similar to .hack and Sword Art Online. Masato, a cultured otaku, thought this was his time to shine, but his mother ended up with cheat skills and stats. She uses them to make his life easier because she’s a loving mother.
She’s also part of a series of anime and manga that make very cultured otaku wish for blood relatives to hook up. This happens when you put hot mothers and sisters in revealing clothing with their sons and brothers.
3. Ruka Rengoku (Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba)
Ruka is the loving and wise mother of the Flame Hashira Kyojuro and the otherwise normal Senjuro. She instilled in Kyojuro the belief that it is the duty of the strong to protect and preserve life. She became ill after giving birth and passed away, leaving her family behind. However, her spirit returned while Kyojuro breathed his last, affirming that she was proud of him, thus proving that a mother is a mother even after death.
4. Yor Forger (Spy X Family)
I won’t hear any comments about “Yor and Loid adopted Anya, and it was just for a mission” because Yor is a mother and a damn fine one. Despite being raised in the Garden to become a world-class assassin, and granted the code name “Thorn Princess,” Yor is a loving and doting mother who would do anything for Anya. She may have developed real feelings for Loid, which would make her a true waifu.
5. Hinata Hyuuga (Naruto)
Hinata is a top-tier waifu that needs no introduction. She is as kind as she is powerful. Naruto made the right choice in Best Girl, and she gave him two children, Boruto and Hanabi, whom Hinata dotes on as the good mother she is.
6. Hiyori Miyazaki (Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs, Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san)
The regular human mother of Chisaki in a series full of supernatural girls. She seduced her husband years ago through hard work and dedication, intending to increase her breast size. Obviously, this worked because who would say “no” to that? She’s proud of her bust size and even allows Koyuzu Shigaraki, a tanuki, to grope her chest. Despite that, she warns Chisaki to be careful around men since they can be “wolves.”
7. Yasuko Takasu (Toradora!)
Yasuko is the hard-working, determined, and childlike mother of Ryuji. Her then-lover left her when she announced her pregnancy, and her parents insisted that she abort the child, but she refused and left home to work hard to support and protect her son. That she’s incredibly hot is just a bonus for the many reasons she’s one of the best anime mothers; she let nothing take away her smile.
8. Shuko Komi (Komi Can’t Communicate, Komi-san wa Komyushou Desu)
Shoko’s mother, and eternally seventeen years old, Shuko is a loving and supportive wife and mother. Unlike her husband and children, she is an outgoing and confident person who is quick to spark a friendly chat. She wonders how her family can sustain their quiet, introverted nature but loves them all the same. And she can communicate their share as well, as any good anime mother can.
9. Rinko Iori (Gundam Build Fighters)
This entry shouldn’t be a surprise. Peter, Your Friend in Japan, wrote a whole article about Rinko’s butt, and he was right to do so. In a world where someone like Rinko exists, who cares about Gunpla? She has twin buster rifles and actively tries to set up her son Sei with China Kousaka. So yes, she is a top-tier waifu and mother.
10. Sephie Michaela Deviluke (To LOVE-Ru)
As a woman so attractive, she has to wear a veil to avoid being jumped by people. Sephie actively supports her daughters’ relationship with Rito Yuki and supports Momo’s harem plan, making her the best mother-in-law in the universe. Besides that title, she rules as the Queen of planet Deviluke in her husband’s stead because he would rather have fun and mess around with other girls.
11. Izumi Curtis (Fullmetal Alchemist)
In the same vein as Yor Forger, Izumi has none of her own children but is still a mother. Her son died after birth, and she tried to use alchemy to revive him. Her punishment from Truth was the removal of her reproductive organs, so Izumi could never have had children of her own. Despite that, she raised Edward and Alphonse like they were her own children. She taught them to fight, perform alchemy, and to live good lives. As angry as Izumi would get at them for their reckless actions, her love for them always shone through.
12. Lisa Lisa / Elizabeth Joestar (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)
Elizabeth is the wife of George Joestar II and the mother of Joseph Joestar. She is also a powerful master of Ripple and a mentor to Joseph and Caesar Zeppeli both. Elizabeth took on the name Lisa Lisa after avenging her husband, George II, who was killed by one of Dio’s last surviving zombies. A military officer saw the battle and assumed she killed a superior officer, a misunderstanding she could not otherwise explain away.
Lisa is a courageous woman and dutifully looks after her son. But she only reveals their actual relationship later in the story.
