World Dai Star is another idol anime series, a multimedia franchise much like THE iDOLM@STER series. While THE iDOLM@STER has been around for a while, World Dai Star is just now taking the stage, and those watching now can get front-row seats to what might become a great series to get invested in. The series is set to premiere on April 9th, so idol anime fans should get hyped soon.
Unlike THE iDOLM@STER, the idols of World Dai Star are theater performers, as seen in the first trailer. The characters seem to be performing the tale of Aladdin from the epic The Book of One Thousand and One Nights, also known as The Arabian Nights, as evidenced by their clothes and the lamp one of the characters is holding.
A home page and Twitter account have been set up for potential viewers to check out for further information and updates about the anime version of World Dai Star. Extras, such as the cover key visual below, can be found there.
Kokona Otori Sets Her Sights on Sirius
The anime version of World Dai Star follows Kokona Otori, a sixteen-year-old girl who dreams of becoming a “World Dai Star,” a famous idol known worldwide. Dai Stars are seen as the best actors and actresses, so striving to become a World Dai Star means Kokona has set ambitious goals.
Kokona joins the theater company Sirius, a group that she greatly admires. Kokona seems to get along well with Shizuka, as indicated by their hand-holding and blushing when the curtains lifted in the trailer. Although Shizuka might have some friction with Kathrina Griebel since their anger resulted in anime-style electric bolts shooting from their eyes. Watching the rest of the theater company (Yae Niizuma, Panda Yanagiba, Chisa Sasuga, and Noa Hiiragi) is just as fun.
World Dai Star Origins
As previously stated, World Dai Star is a mixed-media project in the making. It was created by Takahiro, a prolific writer who had written numerous anime, manga, and visual novels. His famous works include Akame ga Kill! and Yuki Yuna is a Hero. He has also contributed to production companies, including Egg Firm, an anime management firm, and Bandai Namco Filmworks. Fans can visit and discover more at the home page dedicated to this multimedia project.
The anime series is just one part of this project. A manga series written by Nanafuji and published by Media Factory will release on April 2nd. A mobile game titled World Dai Star: Yume no Stellarium is set for the summer of 2023. The developers have high hopes for this one since they already have a Twitter account for the game and a full trailer to tease potential players.
