If you missed Laid-Back Camp when it premiered during the winter 2018 season, you missed out on one of the better iyashikei (healing) anime of the last few years. Based on the manga created by Afro, the series features a group of girls who grow closer through the hobby of outdoor winter camping. The manga series has been licensed by Yen Press and the anime was licensed by Crunchyroll who describes the series as:
Nadeshiko, a high school student who had moved from Shizuoka to Yamanashi, decides to see the famous, 1000 yen-bill-featured Mount Fuji. Even though she manages to bike all the way to Motosu, she’s forced to turn back because of worsening weather. Unable to set her eyes on her goal, she faints partway to her destination. When she wakes up, it’s night, in a place she’s never been before, with no way of knowing how to get home. Nadeshiko is saved when she encounters Rin, a girl who is out camping by herself. This outdoorsy girl’s story begins with this first encounter between Nadeshiko and Rin.
So far the manga series has eight collected volumes on shelves in Japan while the anime has had a second season and spinoff series green-lit. The spinoff series, Heya Kyan△ (Room Camp), will premiere in January 2020, while the second season has yet to have a premiere date announced.
