Anime fans are coming off one of the best seasons in years. But time marches on, and once again it’s time to say goodbye to the old anime season and hello to the new one. For an anime blogger, this means I’ll be super busy over the next few weeks as I scramble to watch a dozen or more shows all at once, so I can figure out which ones are worth introducing to you on the J-List blog. In this post, let’s look at all the new anime J-List will be watching in the Spring 2024 anime season!

A Monster Anime Season is Coming! What New Anime Will J-List Be Watching?
It’s great seeing how popular anime has become, as the wonky subculture we all discovered years ago continues to be embraced by fans around the world. Streaming continues to provide plenty of funding for anime, and it seems any light novel or manga series can get an anime adaptation these days. Let’s check out all the amazing new anime I’ll be paying attention to in the new season!
Konosuba Season 3
One of the most popular isekai series ever made, Konosuba wins with fans because of its great characters and smart comedy. And a proper season 3 is coming! While you wait for the new episodes to drop, why not browse J-List for fun Konosuba merch?
Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Part 2
My all-time favorite isekai anime is continuing! While it might be frustrating for fans to have each cour split into two parts, as an anime retailer I understand the importance of spacing out the episodes to give more time for the show to remain front and center in the minds of fans over a longer period. We have Mushoku Tensei figures and naughty products in stock for you here!
Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf
The long support of faithful Spice and Wolf fans has finally been rewarded, and we’re getting a reboot of this awesome series. When I heard the news, I was frankly terrified, since fans can be very unkind if there are any changes made to a beloved series. What if they did the remake with CGI animation, or changed voice actors, or redid the character designs? Except for moving studios from Imagin to Passione, everything seems fine with the reboot, based on the official trailer.
(Since Passione is famous for their sexy fan service anime, does this mean we’ll get more interesting camera angles of Holo in the new series?)
Yuru Camp Season 3
Fans of this relaxing cute-girls-doing-camping-things series enjoyed the Yuru Camp movie, which is set several years in the future. But in the end, we love watching the girls while they’re in high school, experimenting with different kinds of camping in the winter as they form bonds of friendship together. I will totally be watching each episode!
Blue Archive The Animation
Before I watched Evangelion, I had been selling hentai doujinshi of the series on J-List for months, and it was interesting to finally watch that show through the lens of doujins. The same thing is going to happen with Blue Archive, since I mainly know the characters through the sexy doujins J-List sells. It will be interesting, I’m sure!
That Time I Got Reincarnated As a Slime Season 3
One of the best-executed “reincarnated in another world” anime is returning after several years. Will fans continue to enjoy following the adventures of Timuru Tempest, Millim, Shion, and all the rest? Tune in to find out!
Kaiju No. 8
In addition to continuing seasons and reboots, there are plenty of bold new anime offerings, too. One that looks good is Kaiju No 8, from Toho, who owns the Godzilla series. In a world where monsters regularly attack, we follow Kafka Hibino, a “sweeper” whose job is to clean up after a monster is destroyed. When he becomes a human-hybrid monster himself, will he be able to realize his dream of fighting monsters? I believe the popularity of this show will depend on the interplay between characters and how much restraint Toho uses in CGI monster animation. Fingers crossed that it’s a good show!
Whisper Me a Love Song
A new yuri anime? Sign me up! Band member Yori Asanagi is surprised with her kouhai Himari Kino suddenly confesses to her. But does Himari really love her, or her music?
Hananoi-kun: A Condition Called Love
Being a card-carrying fan of romance anime, I’m naturally interested in any new show that could make our hearts soar like The Dangers In My Heart did. I’ll be checking out A Condition Called Love, based on a shoujo manga series.
Studio Apartment, Good Lighting, Angel Included
Shingarou Tokumitsu is a high schooler living in a studio apartment. What happens when an angel named Towa shows up on his balcony, asking to live with him?

Train to the End of the World
A group of female train otakus in a mysterious Kemono Friends-esque post-apocalyptic world? The show offers great animation, cute girls, and lots of gritty train tech for rail fans. Can the girls drive the broken old train they found all the way to Ikebukuro?
The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio
I’m always on the lookout for shows that capture the world of anime or voice acting for us in interesting ways. Chika and Yumiko are two young voice actresses who host a weekly radio program together, although they hate each other’s guts. Where will their lives take them when they’re put in the same class together?
Lots Of New ‘Reincarnated In Another World’ Series
As usual, there are a ton of new isekai and tensei related anime…perhaps too many? We have:
- I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability
- As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I’ll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World
- Chillin’ in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers
- Re:Monster
- Henjin no Salad Bowl
Which ones will break through and create enough buzz for fans to take notice? I have no idea!
More New Anime To Watch
We also have continuing seasons of past anime. We have more Hibike! Euphonium, The Irregular at Magic High School, Date A Live, and Shinigami Bocchan. While more anime is always great, I wonder how popular they’ll be? After all, fans love to pound the table for new seasons of anime, then refuse to watch them when they arrive.
What Anime Won’t I Be Watching?
Even a guy lucky enough to watch anime for his job can’t possibly watch everything, and there are more than a few new anime series I’m happy to give a pass on.
Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hashira Geiko-hen
First up is the latest iteration of Demon Slayer, made by Sony-owned Aniplex. Sony is a company that can’t stop making a thing once it’s made a pile of money for them. We saw this with their constant remaking of Spider-Man in the Sam Raimi and Marc Webb film eras, and when they kept giving fans more Sword Art Online than we perhaps wanted. And Sony is doing it again with Demon Slayer, because they can never say no to money, even though they might burn out their fan base.
One reason I love anime is that it tells sharp stories that have well-crafted beginnings and endings. If I wanted to follow stories that never end or are resolved, I’d read American comics.
Boku no Hero Academia Season 7
Finally, another anime I won’t be following personally is the 7th season of My Hero Academia. I like the show and its concept fine, but I’ve never been much of a shounen anime fan, preferring the bolder and shorter stories told in late-night anime slots.
