Beyond Rule 34: When Fans Create Sexy Anime Edits
Rule 34 of the internet states that “If you can imagine it, there’s porn of it. No exceptions.” The term was popularized by the XKCD webcomic, and quickly became a cornerstone of internet subculture. While most of us have spent many hours collecting sexy fan art of our favorite characters from various corners of the internet, there’s a related trend in fandom I like a lot: fan edits. These are stills or animated clips from anime which are edited to be sexy, removing pantsu or drawing nipples, and more.
Third-party fan edits of anime are entertaining not just because they let fans see what we naturally would love to see. But the reactions of other characters are usually perfect for the edited scene, so they can add a new dimension of sexy humor!
