We’re all aware of the ongoing battle over which is better, boobs or butts, or to use the more refined language otakus of culture, “plot” or “backstory.” While we all might disagree on which one we prefer, I think we can all admit that a well-animated butt is always a welcome one in our newsfeed. I asked the J-List Twitter fam to share their favorite anime booty with us, and here’s the list of the 14 best kinds of anime booty we came up with!

…or it can be small and shapely, the perfect size to carry anywhere.
It can be large and soft, like a giant marshmallow, just perfect for attracting the attention of a mate.
We always love panchira, a brief, delicious glimpse of something unexpected that brightens your day.
A good anime booty can challenge us to do better in sports.
It can also spark our imagination in ways that get our fantasies running wild.
It can be especially nice when a girl is a Schrödinger’s panties character, wearing underwear that’s both there and not there until you perform a scientific experiment, lifting the skirt to make an observation.
Sometimes this awakens new yearnings in us that cause us to explore brave new worlds.
It can be especially charming when anime booty is revealed by the clumsy actions of a cute girl.
Of course, some people don’t like all this focus on fanservice, and think the camera angles in anime can be a little weird.
While everyone is entitled to their opinion, this is my personal response to their complaints.
Because I believe butts can encourage us to keep moving forward in life…
…always running towards a bright future.
