Two years ago, we all had to learn to deal with a terrible pandemic and the economic and social fallout that shutting down the world economy involved. Our beloved San Diego Comic-Con fan event was coldly taken from us by COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021, and during that time it felt like things would never return to normal. But just like Anime Expo earlier this month, things eventually returned to something closer to “normal,” I’m happy to say that San Diego is buzzing with energy, ready for the largest and nerdiest convention to return after so many years. And J-List will be ready for them!
J-List will be at the San Diego Comic-Con at booth 4929, and we hope to see you at the show! If you cannot attend SDCC, visit the J-List site and make an order during our San Diego Comic-Con 10% off sale!
Four Things We Love About San Diego Comic-Con!
As I wrote in my post about the history of the San Diego Comic-Con and J-List, we’ve been attending the event for years, happily selling anime and hentai products in our corner of the sprawling San Diego Convention Center since the beginning of J-List as a company. It’s been great, growing with the overall convention and having fun with everyone over the years.
We Love Selling Wacky Products to our Customers
Every year J-List, JAST, and J18 Publishing work super hard to find great products to bring to you at the summer conventions. This year expect some great hentai visual novels by JAST, and a huge offering of sexy doujinshi, manga and artbooks from J18 Publishing. We’ll have sexy hentai grab bags boxes for you, plus all-ages grab bags for Sailor Moon and more general anime fans. Of course you can browse the gorgeous artbooks we brought out recently, including the new Art of Kantoku book, though stock will be limited to what we can fit inside our booth.
I also don’t mind that SDCC is a local event for us, and if we sell out of some important hentai doujinshi or manga at our booth, we can generally swing by the warehouse and pick up more stock for the next day, which is very convenient.
We Love the Variety of Nerdy Products for Us to Buy
Which con do I like better, Anime Expo or SDCC? That’s an interesting question. While I generally consider AX to be the single most awesome place on Earth, filled with 120,000+ passionate anime otakus who love the same anime, manga, games and hentai as me, SDCC is a lot of fun, too. Since it’s not tied to a specific slice of fandom but serves all genres, from classic comic books to sci-fi to anime and “normie” fandoms like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I can always find something fun and unexpected to buy in the dealer’s room.

We Love Meeting Old Friends
Every year at these shows I get to see the same people who come by the booth to say hello. This year I’ll be extra nervous, hoping that everyone I’ve seen in past years has made it through the health crisis to be with us here again. Fingers crossed!
We Love the Cosplays
While there are plenty of great anime cosplayers at Anime Expo, the wider breadth of San Diego Comic-Con means there are even bolder and more amazing costumes to grab pictures of. If you’re in costume, please swing by booth 4929 and let us take your picture for Twitter!
Thanks for reading this blog post on the return of the San Diego Comic-Con after the crisis of COVID-19. We hope to see you at the show this week, or else we’ll catch you on the website!
