Tonight is J-List’s bonenkai (boh-NEN-KAI), or Year End Party, a big tradition in any company in Japan. Literally meaning “Forget the Past Year Party,” it’s a time to look back on all that’s happened over the past year and say otsukare-sama deshita! (ohts-KAH-ray-sah-mah deh-shta, “thanks for your hard work”) to all employees. We’ll eat a lot of good food, drink and then hit the karaoke box for some serious anime singing. 2008 was a busy year for J-List, and we all worked hard to bring many cool products from Japan to tens of thousands of customers all over the world. Things weren’t always easy, and there are but they were always fun, and we sincerely thank you for being “Friends of J-List” and helping us grow.
