With Alter’s upcoming release of the Marin Kitagawa Liz figure from My Dress-Up Darling, fans have the chance to own an impressive collectible featuring the show’s lead heroine.
The Marin Kitagawa Liz Figure — An Iconic Anime Figure
If you were an anime fan during the winter 2022 season, without a doubt, you heard and saw content relating to Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru. With one of the healthiest relationships in anime, gratuitous fan service, and a lovable plot, the show took over social media like the USSR took over Eastern Europe. The show’s lead heroine, Marin Kitagawa, enchanted fans with her gyaru fashion style and love for cosplay. One sequence of the show entered the lofty heights of anime history: the Love Hotel Liz cosplay scene.
An employee at Alter watched that scene, recognized its commercial potential, picked up the phone, and contacted Missile to transform it into a figure. The 1/6 scale, 6.7″ (17 cm) ABS, PVC figure features Marin in her Liz succubus cosplay. Estimated to ship in March 2025, the figure retails for $220 and makes a perfect collector’s item. This figure perfectly recreates Marin’s cosplay, capturing the essence of the iconic scene.

That’s a lesson that the meek and lonely Wakana Gojou learns firsthand as his obsession with hina dolls leads to him befriending the beautiful Marin Kitagawa. Marin, unbeknownst to her classmates, is a cosplay nut. When she discovers that Gojou is a proficient tailor, she recruits him to help her with her cosplays. As the two work together, the line between their partnership, friendship, and romance quickly blurs. Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru is available on Crunchyroll.
