Akihiro Ononaka understood my plight and made a story about a sex-addicted girl who suddenly found herself with way too much power on her hands. What’s Gushing Over Magical Girls About?
If you ever needed a striking visual example of why teaching sex-ed is never optional, Akihiro Ononaka’s Gushing Over Magical Girls is a manga/anime you need to read/watch. When the seemingly normal Utena Hiiragi gets a chance to live her dream and become a magical girl, it seems too good to be true. Unfortunately for her, it was. When a magical mascot grants her the ability to transform, she becomes a scandalously dressed villain. To make matters worse, she’s coerced into battle with threats of having her transformation leaked online. But once she’s in the fight instead of the crushing guilt she expected to feel because she’s fighting her heroes, she realizes it’s mind-numbingly pleasurable to subjugate magical girls.
And what happens to a person who has a messed-up intro into the world of sexuality, enjoys it, and has the power to keep doing perverse things? They instantly overdo it, and that’s what Utena does. As with every sortie against Tres Magia, she unleashes her S&M kinks, and with little reason to hold back, Utena quickly learns that contrary to internet lore, one can be horny and happy at the same time.
