I love my job at J-List. I get to write descriptions of naughty manga and doujinshi, and add new ero toys to the site every day. But since I’m an anime fan at heart, I also get to thumb through the pages of all the great anime magazines we add to the site every month. Today, let’s look at the May 2024 issue of Newtype, which is in stock on the site now, and check out all the good stuff inside!
No girlfriend? No problem! April 14 is Black Day in South Korea, when single men mark the occasion by eating black noodles. They missed out on Valentine’s Day chocolate on February 14 and had no one to give white chocolate to on White Day, March 14, so April 14 is their day! J-List is celebrating with a huge 15% sale on all Japan-based products through April 20. Start browsing now!

What’s Inside the May 2024 Newtype?

First, let’s go over the bonus items you get inside this issue. There are four posters, one inside the magazine with Spice and Wolf and Wind Breaker inside, plus a large format pull-out poster with Dungeon Meshi and Touken Ranbu on either side. You also get a cool sheet of stickers from Dungeon Meshi that look great!

The highlight of this issue is Dungeon Meshi, aka Delicious In Dungeon, with 16 pages of visuals and information about all the characters from this fun anime!

I liked the section on Shuumatsu Train, a series I’m enjoying a lot. It provides information on the world and characters of this anime and includes lots of large, colorful visuals to enjoy!

You also get 4+ page sections on Yoru no Kurage wa Oyogenai, Konozuba, and the final season of Yuru Camp, which are great for getting excited about watching all the fun episodes that are waiting for us this season. Waku waku suru!
