Fuyumi Shiraishi, a Japanese actress and voice actress, passed away on Thursday, March 28 due to ischemic heart failure. She was 82.
A visiting relative discovered her unconscious after she had supposedly fallen in her Setagaya home, where she lived alone, in Tokyo on Thursday afternoon.
Shiraishi was born in Beijing, China, in 1941. She graduated from Toho Entertainment school and experienced musical while she was still studying. She was in Japan Theater Dancing Team. Her first voice acting job was Nina Belton from Big X in 1964. She was known for many iconic roles in anime, including Mirai Yashima from Mobile Suit Gundam, Sachi from Ashita no Joe, Akiko Hoshi from Kyojin no Hoshi, Patalliro the 8th from Patalliro!, and Kasha Imhof from Densetsu Kyojin Ideon.
She was also an actress, radio host, and narrator. In the later years, she was a teacher at Tokyo Animator Gakuin who help teach young students voice acting.
