Visual Prison Anime Reveals New Promotional Video

Vampire visual kei bands do battle in the streets of Harajuku with their music. You know what? I can dig that.

In this series from the creator of another musical multimedia franchise you may have heard of, Uta no Prince Sama, the main story revolves around a girl who finds herself wrapped up in the world of visual kei street battles involving three different bands who happen to be made up of vampires: OZ, Lost Eden, and Eclipse.

First announced back in March 2021 at the annual AnimeJapan event, Visual Prison will air this October. Produced by A-1 Pictures, the crew features Tomoya Tanaka as the director, Yukie Sugawara writing the scripts, and Minako Shiba designing the characters. All of the music will be produced by Elements Garden, which means you already know the songs are going to be bangers as this is a group that has fine-tuned Japanese pop music down to a science.

While we’re unsure of who will play the female lead, the cast members for the three previously mentioned bands reads as (character names first):

O★Z

Ange Yuki: Shoya Chiba
Guilta Brion: Makoto Furukawa
Eve Louise: Hiroki Nanami
Robin Laffite: Shun Horie

LOS†EDEN

Saga Latour: Takuya Eguchi
Mist Flaive: Nobunaga Shimazaki
Veuve Elizabeth: Takuma Nagatsuka
Jack Mouton: Shogo Yano

ECLIPSE

Dimitri Romanee: Toshiki Masuda
Hyde Jayer: Shouta Aoi

As I’ve stated before, I’m a pretty big fan of Uta no Prince Sama and I also enjoy visual kei music, so this seems like a certain winner for me. The only problem I have so far is that the Visual Prison promotional video didn’t really provide us with much additional information about the series. We heard a tiny snippet of one of the insert songs but that’s not really a lot to judge on. With any luck, we’ll get more (better?) promotional videos in the next few weeks in the lead-up to October.
