Visual Kei Music Series Visual Prison Reveals Crew Members

The staff behind the hit music franchise Uta no Prince Sama are hoping that they can translate that success into a hit visual kei series titled Visual Prison!

Visual Prison Key Visual 01

Set to premiere in October 2021, Visual Prison is a visual kei music series about vampire musicians from three different bands (Oz, Lost Eden, and Eclipse) who do battle against each other using music on the streets of Harajuku. The main character is a girl named Yuki, who arrived in the neighborhood to find herself but instead stumbles across a battle between two of the bands and gets caught up in their world.

As mentioned, a couple of the staff members behind Uta no Prince Sama are reuniting to see if they can make lightning strike twice. A-1 Pictures will produce the animation with Takeshi Furuta serving as chief director alongside Tomoya Tanaka as director. Yukie Sugawara is writing the scripts for the series while Elements Garden is composing all the music.

I have made absolutely zero secret about how much I enjoyed the Uta no Prince Sama franchise. I’m not like a mega-fan who plays all the games and collects all the figures, but the anime series were all just fun enough to stay entertaining while also being just ridiculous enough to make me laugh more than once (yes, that is a not-so-subtle reference to the idol android).

When it comes to the upcoming Visual Prison, I’m more than happy to give this staff a chance at capturing my attention with their visual kei bishounen vampires, though I admit to being a bit confused on why they have to be vampires. Whatever, though, visual kei vampires. Sure, why not? This is particularly true since Elements Garden is composing the music and they have popular Japanese music figured out down to a science, so it’s a safe bet they will fill the soundtrack with bangers.
