The tale of Hanako-san of the Toilet comes alive again. The Kamome Academy students uncovered some of Hanako-san’s secrets, and one kind girl made a wish before him. Hanako-kun and his friends go on a new adventure in Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun (Jibaku Shonen Hanako-kun) Season 2. We’ll see his new time-manipulating opponents when this anime series resumes sometime in January 2025.
Aida and Iro, under their joined name “AidaIro,” released the original Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun manga series on June 18th, 2014. Square Enix has since published 22 volumes in Monthly GFantasy. Studio Lerche’s anime adaptation premiered on January 10th, 2020.
The titular spirit and two of his friends are as follows:
- Hanako — Megumi Ogata (Yuta Okkotsu from Jujutsu Kaisen). The seventh entity of Kamome Academy’s Seven Mysteries. He works to keep the other mysteries in line.
- Nene Yashiro — Akari Kito (Seiun Sky from Uma Musume Pretty Derby). A cute girl who made a wish for her crush to like her back. Through various circumstances, she comes to be Hanako’s assistant.
- Kou Minamoto — Shoya Chiba (Yu from Fire Force). The second-eldest son of the Minamoto clan. He aspires to be a great exorcist like the rest of his family.

Race Against Time in Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun
Kamome Academy famously hides Seven Mysteries, tales of supernatural figures that stalk its halls. Students often go in search of these spirits to discover the truth. Nene Yashiro is one such student who seeks the truth. She finds the bathroom where one could summon Hanako-san to have a wish granted. Hanako-san’s job entails much more than granting wishes. Nene joins in his adventures of slaying evil spirits and maintaining a delicate balance between the material and immaterial worlds.
Their adventures bring them to a more dangerous situation. Time itself seems to be moving differently in and around the school. Three spirits who control the past, present, and future are making certain moves. One such spirit sees himself above Hanako-kun, the leader of the Seven Mysteries. Hanako, Nene, and the exorcist Kou team up to stop them before all the students grow up before they know it.
