There’s an anime for every hobby. We’ve gotten shows about kawaii waifus enjoying mineralogy, camping, bugger-all, astronomy, and now we’re getting an anime about train travel. East Fish Studio (A Condition Called Love) is bringing us an original train travel anime! Tetsuryo! Meet with Tetsudou Musume, a CGDCT anime related to the Tetsudou Musume (Railway Girls) project, which is coming in 2026. The show’s production company has released a trailer and visual as part of the promotion for the upcoming anime.
Tetsuryo! Meet with Tetsudou Musume Details
Tetsuryo! Meet with Tetsudou Musume follows four university students who are all members of the Train Travel Club. Together, the girls travel across Japan by train during their free time, enjoying vistas that only a railroad journey can bring. The anime is planned as part of the Tetsudou Musume project’s 20th anniversary. Tetsuryo! Meet with Railroad Girls’ known production staff includes Misuzu Hoshino as director. Hoshino-san is known for his directorial work in Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! and The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious. Aya Satsuki will handle the anime’s script and series composition. She previously worked on titles like Sorairo Utility and Too Cute Crisis! Tetsuryo! Meet with Tetsudou Musume credited Hisanori Hashimoto, of Attack on Titan fame, for character designs.
You might think that train travel has become a thing of the past, but it’s booming. Before I got the news about this adaptation, I was eagerly viewing tours for the Copper Canyon via the Chepe Express. So I can guarantee you that there’s a market for shows like Tetsuryo! Meet with Tetsudou Musume.
Tetsudou Musume Overview
Tetsudou Musume (Railway Girls) is a multimedia franchise focusing on Japan’s train transit system. Several of the characters became tourism ambassadors or helped in promoting railroad revitalization projects.
Tomytec (Takara Tomy) created the Railway Girls franchise. Since its debut as anime-styled figures, Tetsudou Musume has received various Lantis-produced audio CDs, a television drama, and a video game, Tetsudou Musume DS: Terminal Memory. Gakken released a light novel adaptation (Ganbare! Tetsudou Musume) by Koichi with illustrations by Muraki in March 2007. ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Daioh serialized Matsuda98’s manga adaptation (Tetsudou Musume: Terminal Memory) from June 2008 to February 2009.
