Steins;Gate is celebrating its fifteenth anniversary this year. ARE YOU FEELING OLD MR. CRABS? As part of that celebration, they’re teaming up with the online lottery MAGIC Kuji to bring us some marvelously ecchi merchandise of their heroines! The Steins;Gate x MAGIC Kuji Online lottery will run until March 31 (16:00 JST). A ticket costs ¥990 (~$16) and includes prizes such as acrylic stands, tapestries, charms, and tin badges.

Why Should Western Fans Care About the Steins;Gate x MAGIC Kuji Online Lottery?
Western fans may ask why this is newsworthy. That’s a simple answer; re-sales! Most likely, if you’re buying merch from your favorite series, you’ve stumbled across a few uncommon alluring/sexy items. These items usually come from events like lotteries, pop-up shops, and collabs. I don’t have to tell you how sought-after those are. After-sales items can hike to ten times their original value!
Additionally, Western fans can proxy-buy a ticket and participate in real time. But that’s a bit more complicated and requires much work for the individual. So, for now, let’s focus on the lottery and the boobage it brings. As an Amane x Chhhhriiiissttiiinnaaa stan, luck was on my side! Those two got the lewdest costumes of the lot! Kurisu’s dominatrix-esque bunny outfit would make Magia Baiser blush! It’s wantonly sexy yet fails to become obscene. However, watch out because seeing her legs in fishnet stockings will cause obscene thoughts. Amane’s costume is provocative enough to rid you of all cognitive functions, so #embracethecaveman. She proves that sometimes clothes buff the wearer, and at others, the wearer buffs the clothes.
Fans of the other girls have no need to fret! Mayuri’s light blue costume’s chest piece is the apparel equivalent of the defensive walls in Muv-Luv — should they fall, humanity isn’t prepared for what’s coming out. Faris’ suit may be modest and out of place, but it fits her kawaii personality well. Speaking of modesty, the Steins;Gate x MAGIC Kuji Online Lottery also features formal wear character acrylic stands. Several items also feature kawaii chibi bunny suit artwork.
How Does the Steins;Gate x MAGIC Kuji Online Lottery Work?
Promotional lotteries aren’t a win-all venture like their Western counterparts. These are more akin to raffles. Why? Because most tickets give you a prize, and multiple people can win the biggest prizes. Prize allotment breakdown into a percentage probability is on the website:
- S Prize Lot (11.81” Bunny Girl Acrylic Stands) — 1% chance
- A Prize Lot (Bunny Girl Tapestry ~ 63″ x 21″) — 2% chance
- B Prize Lot (Small Formal Art Acrylic Stands) — 3% chance
- C Prize Lot (Glass Bunny Girl Charms) — 39% chance
- D Prize Lot (Steins;Gate x MAGIC Kuji Online Lottery tin badges) — 48% chance
Special bulk bonuses are also part of the draw! Anyone who purchases a fifteen-ticket set receives a B2-sized bunny girl tapestry. The tapestry character depends on when you make your purchase. Check out more about this and the X (Japan only) giveaway.

Our History with Steins;Gate
While our love for lewdable waifus in bunny girl costumes is world-renowned, did you know we have a deep history with Steins;Gate, and Nitro Plus? JAST USA brought the English version of Steins;Gate’s visual novel to the West! Our very own Peter-senpai once walked into the halls of Nitro Plus’s headquarters in Akihabara to discuss licensing their games. That was almost two decades ago. Now, JAST USA boasts VNs like Song of Saya, SoniComi, and more!
If you’d like to know more about game production, translation, and promotion, you can read Peter-senpai’s extensive Steins;Gate posts. One of my favorites (because it’s a topic I’ve never considered) is how slang, specifically net slang, breathes life into VNs and how much of a challenge it can be to localize that slang.
What’s Steins;Gate About?
A Nitroplus and 5pb production, Steins;Gate follows Rintaro Okabe and delivers THE GREATEST time warp stories in anime. A self-proclaimed mad scientist, Rintaro spends his days tinkering with inventions in his home lab alongside his friends, the affable Mayuri Shiina and pro-hacker Itaru “Daru” Hashida. But, in all their time together, the only meaningful invention the trio has created is a microwave that turns bananas into green goo. One day, when Rintaro attends a conference on time travel and finds the neuroscientist Kurisu Makise dead, he unwittingly enters a life-and-death scenario involving time travel, time warps, and diverging futures. White Fox animated several Steins;Gate iterations, such as the full-length Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate 0, their movies, and OVAs.
Before any weeb starts typing, “Ackchyually, Steins;Gate came out in 2009, so the math ain’t mathing!” the Steins;Gate x MAGIC Kuji Online Lottery celebrates the anime, which occurred in 2010. So #pleasenobully.
