An up-and-coming mangaka does her best to meet her deadlines. Her only problem is an “occupational illness.” She continues to have lewd delusions about her pretty and professional editor. Her patient assistant can only do so much to get her back on task. We’ll see what happens to the mangaka and her delusions when A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace (Egao no Taenai Shokuba Desu) premieres sometime in October 2025.
Kuzushiro released the original A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace manga series on May 18th, 2019. Kodansha has since published eleven volumes in Comic Days.
The mangaka, her oblivious editor, and her patient assistant are as follows:
- Nana Futami — Yuko Natsuyoshi (Cheval Grand from Uma Musume: Pretty Derby). A diligent mangaka with delusions about her editor.
- Kaede Sato — Sora Amamiya (Illustrious from Azur Lane). A hard-working editor who gives Nana as much attention as she does to her more successful mangaka.
- Mizuki Hazama — Miku Ito (Frenika from Sword Art Online: Alicization). Nana’s incredibly patient assistant.

Lewd Delusions Abound in A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace
Nana Futami is a somewhat successful mangaka. Her first series has recently been published, and her sales are such that she can hire an assistant. Nana works very hard on her manga series. Or she would, were it not for her “occupational illness.” She has very complicated feelings about her very pretty assistant.
Nana may or may not have a crush on her editor Kaede Sato. She did feel NTR’d when she found out that her assistant Mizuki Hazama had Kaede’s number. Nana refuses to call or email Kaede about work out of various fears, such as the fear of bothering Kaede while she’s with a potential boyfriend. Her delusions continue to tax Mizuki’s patience. She just wants to get to work.
