Koji is just a run-of-the-mill villager that no real adventurer would look twice at. However, appearances are deceiving when it comes to him. He’s the only villager who dares to fight monsters and level up. Koji has no heroic aspirations; he’s just looking to make a tidy profit and live a comfortable life. His exciting yet slow life ends when he meets a Hero party and the Demon King’s daughter all in one day. We’ll see how that disastrous meeting unfolds when The Level 999 Villager (Lv999 no Murabito) premieres sometime in July 2026.

The Level 999 Villager Takes on the World
An interdimensional calamity struck the earth, unleashing an onslaught of demons and magic onto an unsuspecting populace. The demons tore apart the world we know and left most of it uninhabitable to humans. The gods above took pity on the humans and granted them the gift of magic. The gifts look like an RPG system, complete with classes, levels, and level-based equipment requirements. Great adventurers receive classes such as Warrior or Mage, legends are known as Hero or King, while most humans are simple Villagers.

Koji Kagami is one such Villager who lives in the kingdom that was once known as Japan. Unlike other Villagers, he actively completes quests to hunt monsters. Villagers can never truly become strong, but Koji has reached level 999, surpassing the previous record of 253. Koji has no grand, heroic aspirations, as he explains to one of the great hero parties he encounters in a dungeon. He only wishes to live a good, honest life. It’s not at all suspicious that he personally knows the Demon King.
Will you set off fireworks when you watch the premiere of The Level 999 Villager in July? Have you read the original light novel? Will Koji make an honest woman out of one of the cute adventurers? Let us know in the comments below.
