It’s a nice change of pace when a magical world comes to you, rather than having Truck-kun send you to a magical world. In A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration Hero (Mob kara Hajimaru Tansaku Eiyutan), our aspiring legendary hero transforms his mundane world when magic dungeons emerge. We’ll see how he does in these dungeons when the series premieres sometime in 2024. Until then, let’s watch him summon a loli goddess.
Kaito began posting his A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration Hero novel to the user-generated website Shosetsuka ni Naro on April 9th, 2019. Hobby Japan later picked up the publishing rights and hired the artist Almic to adapt the series to a light novel format. HJ Bunko imprint has published seven volumes since July 1st, 2021.
Our chuunibyou hero and his goddess servant are as follows:
- Kaito Takagi — Yuya Hozumi (Gildan from Seven Knights Revolution). Kaito divides his time between exploring his neighborhood dungeon and attending high school. His fortunes change when he finds a god-class summon card.
- Sylphy — Kana Hanazawa (Mitsuri Kanroji in Demon Slayer). A goddess-class summon spirit who takes the form of a Valkyrie. She is absolutely loyal to Kaito. Sylphy’s outfit and figure became disappointingly modest when she moved from manga to anime.

A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration Hero Allows Even Chuunibyou to Dream
Kaito lives in quite a magical world. In A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration Hero, the world drastically changed years ago. Dungeons formed around the world. The floors could go down for hundreds of levels. Since then, the world adapted to these changes, and an organization dedicated to exploring these dungeons was founded. Those adventurers who plumb those depths also gain magical abilities, similar to an RPG system. However, these abilities exist only within the dungeons.
Kaito has dreamed of becoming a legendary warrior in his own right. There’s a girl he wants to romantically pursue, but he feels he is only a mob character. To that end, he began hunting slimes on the first floor of his local dungeon. Two years later, he can barely scrape by in terms of money and levels. His luck changed one day when a rare slime dropped a god-level summon card. Instead of selling it for ¥1 billion, Kaito used it, bringing forth a cute and powerful spirit. His dream may not be far off after all.
