What is a princess to do when the very people she swore to protect condemned her to death? The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor (Yarinaoshi Reijo wa Ryutei Heika o Koryaku-chu) explains a certain princess’s Plan A when she meets such a fate. She gets a “do-over” like in Tearmoon Empire. We’ll see how this time-traveling princess does when her anime series premieres sometime this year. We can enjoy the new trailer until then.
Sarasa Nagase posted the original The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor novel to the user-generated website Shosetsuka ni Naro on November 2nd, 2019. Kadokawa Shoten obtained the publishing rights and hired the artist Mitsuya Fuji to adapt the series to a light novel format. This new run began on March 1st, 2020, with seven volumes currently published in the Kadokawa Beans Bunko imprint.
Our unfortunate princess and emperor are as follows:
- Jill Cervel — Shu Uchida (Mia Taylor from Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club). A princess who was hailed as the Lady Goddess of War for her peerless battle prowess. Betrayed by her fiancé, she fell in battle and awoke in the past.
- Hadis Teos Rave — Kikunosuke Toya (Denji from Chainsaw Man). The titular Dragon Emperor from the Rave Empire who fought against Jill in the future. He’s very kind and generous in the present.

The Do-Over Damsel Gets a Miracle Second Chance
A truly twisted individual manipulated Princess Jill: Prince Gerald, her fiancé. The titular maiden of The Do-Over Damsel was born with incredible magic reserves. The crown prince of their kingdom proposed to her and gently encouraged her development. Jill became known as the Lady Goddess of War over many years of training and numerous victories in battle. The true face of her “beloved” became known when he framed her for treason and sentenced her to death. Jill went down fighting and awoke several years into the past with her memories of the future.
The plan was apparent: avoid Prince Gerald at all costs. Jill didn’t want to become his pawn, but she couldn’t refuse his proposal without raising suspicions. To that end, she proposed to the first man she saw, who happened to be an emperor. Hadis Teos Rave was the Emperor of Rave and Jill’s future nemesis whose madness razed an entire country. In the past, he was actually very kind. He readily accepted her proposal. Now, Jill has to avoid Gerald and discover why this caring emperor became a villain in the future.
