Coming hot off the heels of the extensive gameplay presentation on Wednesday, the demo for Stellar Blade is now available to all. Other game outlets had the chance to play it, and initial reactions were enthusiastic. As expected, most others say it’s closer to Sekiro than NieR:Automata. But I am 100% okay with that. Sekiro is one of my all-time favorites, and I’ve been dying for more like it. The demo initially launched earlier than planned, leading Sony to pull the demo and actively wipe it from users’ hard drives. Given this reaction, I’m surprised they didn’t roll with it. Stellar Blade is shaping up to be something, well, stellar, from the unapologetically sexy presentation to the solid combat. Expect a full review just after the game launches on April 26th.
It’s currently exclusive to the PlayStation 5, so let’s hope a PC release is in the works. The Stellar Blade demo takes place from the start of the game up to the first boss fight. Save data will carry over into the full release, so don’t worry about repeating any content. After spending time with it during the accidental launch, I saw the comparisons to From Software’s offerings. Combat in Stellar Blade is slightly more methodical, and you must be more reactive with it. Have you played the Stellar Blade demo yet? If so, what do you think? Let us know in the comments.

In the meantime, may I suggest checking out some of our current preorders? We have available figures from Shift-Up’s other game, Nikke: Goddess of Victory. We also have a couple of doujin if those are more your style.
My personal favorite of our lineup is the Marian figure. Any Nikke player knows her tragic story, and this figure does her justice.
