Prolific anime studio Trigger has spent years delivering a variety of stylish and iconic anime series. From memorable action series Kill la Kill to the recent debut of their stylish firefighting mecha action film Promare, the studio has made a name for itself in delivering incredibly memorable original stories. One of their most successful projects, though, was an anime based on the preexisting world of Gridman. The 2018 debut of SSSS.Gridman took the world by storm, delivering an original spin on the iconic heroes and monsters of Gridman that was full of gorgeous animation and unforgettable original characters. While that series was an original story that loosely used existing ideas from the world of Gridman, Trigger are now developing an entirely original sequel anime titled SSSS.Dynazenon, and the very first piece of art from that project has just been revealed.
Trigger is partnering up with Tsuburaya Productions to develop the new original anime production SSSS.Dynazenon, which is set to tie into the world and story of their previous SSSS.Gridman television anime. It hasn’t yet been confirmed if this new project will also be a television anime or a film, but it’s likely to follow the same format as the previous entry in the series. Along with our first look at the characters taking center stage in the anime, the following voice actors have been confirmed to be tied to the project:
- Daiki Hamano as Gauma
- Junya Enoki as Yomogi Asanaka
- Shion Wakayama as Yume Minami
- Yuichiro Umehara as Koyomi Yamanaka
- Chika Anzai as Chise Asukagawa
Akira Amemiya is returning from the SSSS.Gridman anime to direct the latest entry in the “Gridman Universe” at studio Trigger. Keiichi Hasegawa is also returning to serve as scriptwriter for SSSS.Dynazenon, while Masaru Sakamoto will once again work as the character designer alongside returning music composer Shiro Sagisu.
