Shadowverse Flame is an anime adaptation of the card battling game developed by Cygames, just titled Shadowverse. The upcoming season is titled Shadowverse Flame Seven Shadows Arc, and it sees our heroes take on some remarkably strong duelists. The new season will premiere on July 8th. Studio Zexcs has released a trailer to tide fans over until then.
Zexcs has maintained a promotional home page for Shadowverse Flame and an official Twitter page. These websites keep fans and potential viewers up to date on new announcements. The studio has also provided behind-the-scenes information and bonuses such as the key visual.
A New Dragoncraft Legend is Born
Shadowverse Flame is a sequel series that features a brand-new cast of characters. Light Tenryu is a new student at Shadowverse Battle College, or Shadoba College for short. He was persuaded to join by its founder Wolfram Zerga, despite being new to the Shadowverse game. Additionally, Wolfram gave Light a Dragoncraft deck containing the Digital Friend Draconir. This DigiFriend is unique from others with his ability to talk.
Light joined one of the Clubs at Shadowverse Battle College, the novice group Seventh Flame. Due to various circumstances, it was almost shut down. However, thanks to Light, they gained enough members to remain active.
Light has seen his fair share of losses, having almost an even win-loss ratio, unlike the protagonists of Yu-Gi-Oh!. Despite these losses, Seventh Flame was able to win through the rankings to take on the current champions. The Seven Shadows are the most skilled pro Shadowverse players in the world. Wolfram Zerga is one of them, adding further mystery to his character. Light and his friends approach these legends on a hidden island.
Shadowverse Flame Origins
As previously stated, Shadowverse began as a card game. Cygames developed and published the free-to-play game for mobile devices in June 2016, with PC ports becoming available in October 2016.
Zexcs adapted the premise of the card game and wrote a story around it. The first season of Shadowverse, with the original cast, ran from April 7th, 2020, to March 23rd, 2021, for 48 episodes.
Season 2 is titled Shadowverse Flame and is set three years after Season 1. It began on April 2nd, 2022, and it has since aired 50 episodes.
The series proved popular enough for a video game adaptation. Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle was released for the Nintendo Switch in November 2020. The events and characters are taken from the anime adaptation.
If you’re in the market for a classic TCG waifu, the J-List shop has a recommendation. The Dark Magician Girl LookUp Figure from the shop’s Yu-Gi-Oh! section is available for pre-order.
