Possibly the Greatest Alchemist Rises in January

Anime is filled with epic tales of ordinary people summoned from Earth to become saviors of another world. Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time (Izure Saikyo no Renkinjutsu-shi?) starts out differently. Our new isekai protagonist was summoned by accident, and the goddess stepped in to make it up to him. We’ll see how well he comes to terms with his new life when this anime series premieres sometime in January 2025. Let’s enjoy the latest trailer until then.

Kogitsunemaru released the original Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time novel via AlphaPolis on August 6th, 2017. Its light novel adaptation with art by Hitogome was first published on February 28th, 2018. So far, AlphaPolis has published fifteen volumes.

Our (un)lucky alchemist and a couple of the cute girls that he meets are as follows:

• Takumi Iruma — Shogo Sakata (Modaka from Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Girls in a Dungeon?). The King of Sidonia mistakenly summoned Takumi. Nolyn failed to intercept him in time, so she granted him a new body and cheat-like abilities.
• Goddess Nolyn — Sora Amamiya (Illustrious in Azur Lane). Nolyn is the goddess of Mildgard. She developed summoning magic, which she now regrets.
• Sofia Sylphid — Ai Kayano (Shiro from No Game No Life). Sofia is a lovely Elven woman.
• Maria — Nao Toyama (Takao and Atago from Kantai Collection). Maria is an ordinary woman who is happy to help Takumi.

Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time Enjoys an Isekai Life

Takumi Iruma was an ordinary 40-year-old Japanese salaryman. The King of Sidonia accidentally disrupted his life by summoning him to Mildgard. The goddess of Mildgard Nolyn intercepted Takumi before he could correctly arrive. Takumi could not return to his world as she sealed off access between worlds via summoning magic. For compensation, Nolyn offered him a life of peace and magic in Mildgard by offering him divine blessings and a new body.

Takumi received a younger body and the legendary alchemist class. Then, Nolyn sent him far from Sidonia to Mildgard to avoid danger. Despite the strange situation he found himself in, Takumi became quite happy to make new friends and learn to wield his new magic.
