It’s not often that an isekai protagonist gets isekaied by two different methods. A magical and potentially evil queen summons a regular guy from Japan. A goddess with her own goals interferes with the summon and gives him a new body with cheat skills. This unique situation gives him an idyllic isekai life. We’ll see how things go for him when Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time (Izure Saikyo no Renkinjutsu-shi?) premieres sometime in January 2025.
Kogitsunemaru and Hitogome released the original Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time light novel on February 28th, 2018. AlphaPolis has published sixteen volumes.
The titular alchemist and his new friends are as follows:
- Takumi Iruma — Shogo Sakata (Modaka from Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Girls in a Dungeon?). A guy summoned from Japan receives a new body with cheat skills.
- Sofia Sylphid — Ai Kayano (Shiro from No Game No Life). An elf who suffered a debilitating defeat many years ago.
- Maria — Nao Toyama (Takao and Atago from Kantai Collection). A maid with a warrior’s potential.

Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time Builds a Better Life
Takumi Iruma joins a group of people summoned to another world, all destined to become “heroes.” The goddess Norn approaches him in apology. She regrets ever developing that spell after she mistakenly summoned him. Norn offers him a new life in her world with whatever unique skill he might like. Takumi desires peace and quiet and requests the “alchemy” skill.
In reality, the “alchemy” skill is among the most powerful. Takumi can tap into almost any type of magic (such as fire and light) and craft any item he wishes. His crafting skills gain the attention of an affluent merchant who helps him bring his items to market. Takumi also meets a cute maid and a weakened elf girl. He helps both realize their true potential and gains their friendship and affection.
