Cute elf girls always give the impression that they possess timeless wisdom and beauty. This has been ingrained in the media since Tolkien put pen to paper. Plus-Sized Elf (Elf-san wa Yaserarenai) spins this elegant image on its head by showing rotund elves in need of a diet. We’ll see how these mystical foodies do when this anime series premieres on July 6th, 2024. Let’s enjoy the new trailer until then.
Synecdoche created the original Plus-Sized Elf manga series from December 21st, 2016 – May 29th, 2021. Wani Books published volumes one through seven, and Akita Shoten published volume eight. The sequel series Plus-Sized Elf: Second Helping! was first published by Akita Shoten on October 26th, 2021 with three volumes currently in circulation.
Our fitness expert and two of his elven clients are as follows:
- Tomoatsu Naoe — Takahide Ishii (examinee from Vermeil in Gold). He is an osteopath who works at the Smiley Boar clinic. Tomoatsu works to get his clients in shape no matter what species they belong to.
- Elfuda — Ayasa Ito (Vivlos from Uma Musume Pretty Derby). She is a light elf with a voracious appetite for human junk food such as french fries.
- Kuroeda — Rena Hasegawa (Nagamitsu from Honkai Impact 3rd). She is a dark elf who works at a convenience store. Kuroeda is concerned about having a big butt.

Plus-Sized Elf Tries to Slim Down to Return Home
Tomoatsu is a diligent employee at the Smiley Boar clinic. He works to get his clients into their ideal shape. He receives a new client after the mystery woman scares his beautiful boss Akiho Ino. The mystery woman turned out to be a forest elf from another world. It seems the food in her world is less than subpar, so she traveled to our world seeking the legendary “golden tassel,” a box of deep-fried french fries. She gorged herself on junk food and became too heavy to use the portal to return to her world.
Tomoatsu helped her on her way back to her magical world, but Elfuda couldn’t stay away from her beloved french fries. She won’t be the only magical being to come to Earth for our local delicacies, and they’ll all seek Tomoatsu’s help to slim down. One of his new clients is a dark elf, the mortal enemy of light elves.
