Paradox Live THE ANIMATION is part of a larger mixed media project created by Avex Pictures and GCREST. Paradox Live boasts a total of 29 voice actors playing the roles of hip-hop artists battling it out for the top spot of best group. There are numerous groups taking part in rap battles that fans can listen to or watch in various forms. This anime iteration of the media project will premiere in October 2023. Until then, we have a trailer with confusingly pretty characters.

Paradox Live Rappers and Phantom Live

Paradox Live THE ANIMATION is set in the near future where concerts can light up the night. The performers use accessories made with a metal called “phantometal” that, when linked with their DNA, put on particularly exciting shows called Phantom Live. Illusions connected to their emotions create truly brilliant performances. Consequently, the concerts are a hit. These skilled rappers consequently suffer from the side effect known as “traumatic illusions.”

Although there are roughly nine total groups in Paradox Live, evidently only four take the spotlight. BAE, The Cat’s Whiskers, cozmez, and Akanyatsura generally make a battlefield of the legendary CLUB PARADOX to prove that their music is the best.

BAE’s performers are Allen Sugasano (voiced by Gakuto Kajiwara), Yeon Hajun (voiced by Ayumu Murase), and Anne Faulkner (voiced by 96neko). These friends presently attend the same international private university. Their songs simultaneously make use of Japanese, Korean, and English lyrics.

The Cat’s Whiskers include Naoakira Saimon (voiced by Ryota Takeuchi), Yohei Kanbayashi (voiced by Yu Hayashi), Ryu Natsume (voiced by Natsuki Hanae), and Shiki Ando (voiced by Junta Terashima). These singers surprisingly work at Bar 4/7, and combine hip-hop and jazz.

The members of cozmez feature Kanata Yatonokam (voiced by Yusuke Kobayashi) and Nayuta Yatanokami (voiced by Toshiyuki Toyonaga). These singers are twins who use the hardships of living in the slums to influence their music.

Finally, Akanyatsura are yakuza members from the Suiseki clan. They include Iori Suiseki (voiced by Takayuki Kondo), Zen Gaho (voiced by Shima), Hokusai Masaki (voiced by Shun’ichi Toki), Satsuki Ito (voiced by Tasuku Hatanaka), and Reo Maruyama (voiced by Shogo Yano).

The legendary hip-hop duo Buraikan called every Phantom Rapper from around Japan for a new event. BAE, The Cat’s Whiskers, cozmez, Akanyatsura, and more will battle to become the next icon.

Paradox Live Origins

As previously stated, Paradox Live is a mixed media project created by Avex Pictures and GCREST sometime in 2019.

Cultured otaku looking for a more classical beauty skilled with an instrument may want to look to the J-List shop. The Liu Mengli 1/7 Figure Weaving Dreams Ver. from Chinese Paladin: Sword and Fairy 4 is available for pre-order.
