As COVID-19, the deadly virus otherwise known as coronavirus, continues to spread across the globe, Japan has begun to enter major quarantine shutdown across the country. Countless jobs and industries have been put on hold, and unfortunately, this includes the anime industry. Plenty of major upcoming anime releases have been postponed and delayed indefinitely due to the outbreak, with major series like Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- being hit with sudden delays. Unfortunately, the third and final season of the anime adaptation of Wataru Watari’s famous romantic light novel series My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected (Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru) has now been hit with a similar fate. The upcoming premiere of Oregairu My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Climax (Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru. Kan) has been delayed indefinitely.
The official Oregairu Twitter account shared the news, revealing that the highly anticipated final season of the series will no longer be premiering on April 9th as originally scheduled. Unfortunately, a new premiere date has not been decided, but the official website and Twitter account will share the updated premiere schedule for the series once it is.
Sentai, who have localized and released the first two seasons of the series overseas, describes the series as follows:
“Based upon the light novels of Wataru Watari, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU returns with the series’ long-awaited conclusion and resolution to the nail-biting cliffhanger ending of season 2! But the messy emotions of Hachiman, Yukino, and Yui won’t be easily expressed, and as the members of the Service Club band together to host a school prom, they will have to put their feelings into words and truly learn to understand each other at long last… if the Service Club can even stay afloat, that is!”
