Netflix Announces Dub Cast for Upcoming Beastars Release

I know there are plenty of people out there who have been waiting months for this piece of Beastars news!

Earlier today, the official Netflix Twitter account revealed — courtesy of a new promotional video — that the fall 2019 mystery series Beastars will premiere in Japanese and English on March 13th, 2020. Not only that, but we also know the lineup for the English cast:

Legoshi: Jonah Scott

Louis: Griffin Puatu

Haru: Lara Jill Miller

Bill: Kaiji Tang

Jack: Ben Diskin

Kai: Daman Mills

Els: Erika Harlacher

Gouhin: Keith Silverstein

For teenage wolf Legoshi, the only thing stronger than the desire to eat his rabbit schoolmate Haru might be the desire to love her. The first season of furry high school drama anime Beastars launches March 13th! pic.twitter.com/S5aD9USYwT

Originally a manga created by Paru Itagaki, Beastars first launched in Weekly Shonen Champion magazine in September 2016. The 17th compiled volume was released in Japan in January 2020. Viz Media currently releases the manga in English and describes the story as:

One night at Cherryton Academy, an herbivore student is brutally murdered. Among the members of the Drama Club, the herbivores’ suspicions naturally turn to their carnivore classmates… The prime suspect? Gray wolf Legoshi. But he wouldn’t hurt a fly. Or would he? Will dwarf rabbit Haru bring out the beast in him? Or are his feelings for her…something else?

The television anime adaptation of Beastars was first announced in February 2019 before the series premiered in October 2019. Studio Orange produced the animation with Shinichi Matsumi as the director working with Nanami Higuchi who handled series composition. Character designs were adapted for the small screen by Nao Ootsu, and Satoru Kosaki composed the background music. A second season has already been announced with Orange returning to produce the animation.

I know that this is long-awaited news for fans of the franchise, so now the question is, will you be tuning in to Netflix in March to check out this series? I have personally been able to avoid actually watching the series until this point but have heard all the positive buzz surrounding it which has me excited to check it out come March.
