We have another isekai anime series coming soon, another deceptively weak protagonist with cheat-like abilities that he’ll need to survive in a new world filled with magic, monsters, and cute girls. My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1 (Level 1 dakedo Unique Skill de Saikyou desu) sees an unfortunate worker meet his end in a world where he never catches a break, and ends up in a world where his luck simply never misses.
This series isn’t set to air until July 2023, and until then, we have a trailer to enjoy. We are also treated to the ending theme song Tambourine no Naru Oka by Airi Miyakawa.
Studio Maho Film, the team behind this anime adaptation, has set up a promotional home page, and an official Twitter page, to keep fans and potential viewers up to date on new announcements. The studio has also released a key visual showcasing the cast of My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1.
Lucky at Level 1
Ryota Sato (voiced by Kaito Ishikawa) overworked himself while employed at a “black company.” Because such a business operates off the books, he was made to work himself to his limits. Ryota unexpectedly appeared in another world, where he met Emily Brown (voiced by Rin Kusumi) on the first floor of the Tellurium dungeon. Emily explained how items drop from defeated monsters, and how whole economies run on this phenomenon.
Emily guided Ryota to check his stats and levels, since the world also uses an RPG system. It’s here that Ryota learns that he is permanently level 1. His physical stats are the lowest as well. However, his “drop stats,” the odds of him getting certain items, are all the highest possible. With this in mind, he plans to get the rarest item drops to strengthen himself to become an overpowered being.
My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1 Origins
Ryota nearly lost all hope due to his terrible stats in the novel series written by Nazuna Miki. The series was first posted to the user-generated website Shosetsuka ni Naro from February 24th, 2017 to April 19th, 2020. Kodansha later acquired the rights and hired the artist Subachi to adapt the series into light novel format. The new run began on August 31st, 2017 in the Kodansha Ranobe Books imprint, where they have since released seven volumes.
Kodansha adapted the series to manga with the artist Mawata on the job. It was first published on May 30th, 2018 in Suiyobi no Sirius, and they have since released eleven volumes.
