I don’t think I’ve seen a proper girls-with-guns anime since Madlax back in the day. Murciélago (Spanish: bat) features one such gun-toting girl who’s fond of other women. She’s girl crazy, and also actually crazy. I’m not too keen on all of the gore, but the fight scenes and the yuri action are worth it. This one is for the fans of mass destruction, gun-related combat, and, of course, yuri with a Team Plot gunner who seduces and beds women regularly.

Murciélago News, Cast, Staff
The serial killer and two of her cute allies are as follows:
- Kuroko Koumori — Hitomi Ueda (Michiko Tendou from Chainsaw Man). Kuroko is a serial killer currently working for the Japanese government.
- Hinako Tozakura — Minori Suzuki (Agnes Digital from Uma Musume Pretty Derby). Hinako is Kuroko’s partner.
- Chiyo Yanaoka — Sumire Uesaka (Hayase Nagatoro from Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro). Chiyo is a yakuza boss’s daughter and Kuroko’s lover.
Kuroko will begin her bloody mission sometime in January 2027. Studios Satelight and Staple Entertainment are producing the anime adaptation, with Takashi Naoya and Matsuo Asami directing. Takashi Naoya also writes the series, Sei Tateishi designs the characters, and Masanori Akita and Yuichi Tsuchiya provide the music.
Murciélago has an official website and a Twitter (X) account with more information about the series and the key visuals.
The Murciélago Takes Flight, Eliminates Targets, and Flirts With Girls
It’s about time we got another chaotic protagonist. Kuroko Koumori causes trouble and kills people just for the heck of it. Her corpse count totaled 715 at the start of the series, and she was awaiting execution for her crimes. However, the government stays her punishment so she can hunt other serial killers and protect the public. Teamed with a mysterious girl she wants to bed, Kuroko has fun hunting down truly monstrous targets.
Let’s be clear: Kuroko is no hero. She’s guilty of murder, destruction of public and private property, and groping girls on trains. However, she’s far better than the targets the government gives her to eliminate. She also does this thing with her neck that hurts to watch. Look at the Key Visual up there; she leans her head at a weird angle a lot. I really do wonder if they’ll tone down the gore in this anime adaptation. Things get pretty bloody and pulpy in the manga series.
