Kuroe Akaishi has a unique physical abnormality: scales and claws occasionally appear on her body. Her hands become reptile-like claws, horns grow on her head, and she gains a new tail. This affliction gets worse the more her heart races with romantic affection. We’ll see how she fares when she meets a boy who likes her when Kaiju Girl Caramelise (Otome Kaiju Caramélise) premieres sometime in July 2026.

Kaiju Girl Caramelise Cast
The monster girl, her new friend, and her mother are as follows:

- Kuroe Akaishi — Hikari Senga (Anna “Cure Answer” Akechi from Star Detective Precure!). Kuroe is a human girl who forms monster parts whenever she becomes stressed.
- Arata Minami — Daishi Kajita (Nyao from Catch Me at the Ballpark!). Arata is a highly popular boy who prefers solitude to the limelight.
- Rinko Akaishi — Kotono Mitsuishi (Misato Katsuragi from Neon Genesis Evangelion). Rinko is Kuroe’s doting mother. She knows more about Kuroe than Kuroe herself.
Liden Films maintains a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote Kaiju Girl Caramelise. You can find more information about the series and the key visuals at those sites.

The Sweet and Scary Kaiju Girl Caramelise
Kuroe Akaishi is something of a loner at school. Her classmates mock her for being weird and alone. However, Kuroe has a good reason to keep to herself: she has a skin condition that gives her reptile parts. The more stress she’s under, the more reptile-like she becomes. Her hands become claws, horns grow on her head, and she even grows a tail. That is why she wears baggy clothes, to hide the inhuman parts.

Against all odds, Kuroe meets a kind and popular boy who takes an interest in her. Arata Minami is a popular boy who shies from the spotlight. He enjoys having friends and helping others, but the pressure can be too much for him. Arata finds kinship with Kuroe, someone who also avoids the spotlight and treats him like a normal guy. Their growing friendship makes Arata’s heart race. But it exacerbates her condition, turning her into a giant Godzilla-like kaiju that terrorizes Tokyo.
Will you set off fireworks when you watch the premiere of Kaiju Girl Caramelise in July? Have you read the manga series? Can Kuroe control her condition and form a relationship with Arata? Let us know in the comments below.
