As mentioned earlier, Joran: The Princess of Snow and Blood is an alternate history story taking place in the 64th year of the Meiji era (1931) and follows a group of government officials who serve as executioners enforcing the rule of the Tokugawa shogunate. Bushiroad is going all-in with this series, as this will be a multimedia project that includes a manga adaptation and a stage play later this year.
I’m not a major student on the subject of Japanese history. I know little snippets here and there, but I’m not exactly a learned individual who could recite specific dates from memory. I do love, however, original series that are willing to take chances such as completely rewriting certain eras of Japan’s past, and this one looks like it’s going to be a fun ride filled with tons of sword action!
I wish this series nothing but good luck in the lead-up to its April premiere!
