Yomu Mishima and Nadare Takamine released the original I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire! light novel on July 25th, 2020. Overlap has since published nine volumes in the Overlap Bunko imprint.
The isekai protagonist, his new maid, and his old Guide are as follows:
- Liam Sera Banfield — Natsuki Hanae (9S from NieR:Automata). A guy from Japan who was reborn into a futuristic world.
- Amagi — Reina Ueda (Sonia from Spy x Family). An android maid who serves Liam.
- Guide — Takehito Koyasu (Kraft from Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End). A malevolent interdimensional being who feeds on negative emotions.

Kneel, You Dogs! I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!
A Japanese salaryman works himself to the bone to support his wife and their daughter. He is a kind, gentle man who does his best for his family. Unfortunately, his wife and boss see him as a convenient tool. His wife and boss work together to frame him for financial crimes and burden him with a massive debt. She then leaves him for her lover, the same man who fathered her daughter. The man died of heart failure and met the Guide who offered him a chance at a new life in another world.
The Guide enhances existing negativity to cause problems and feeds on the resulting negative emotions. As such, he’s keen to see the salaryman become a tyrant. The unfortunate salaryman is reborn as Liam, a nobleman whose parents’ greed caused their territory to fall. They leave him with the administration of the area and force him to sign a contract guaranteeing them a permanent stipend. Liam then sets out to rule over all as an evil lord. However, his “reign of evil” has markedly improved the lives of his people. Only the Guide is going hungry because everyone is so happy.
